Wednesday, June 14Mission for the Tacoma Stars and The Soccer Center
The Tacoma Stars plays in the Premier Arena Soccer league-Pacific Region; Pacific Division. (www.arenaleague.com) The PASL is the only recognized Development League for the Major Indoor Soccer League. (www.misl.net) There are 6 regions across the USA, Canada and Mexico. Teams play in regional competition to keep travel costs to a minimum. The champion of each region will then compete in a national final. There are 2 seasons; Summer and Winter. The Winter having the largest participation of teams. Some of the teams play in a Developmental Outdoor league during the Summer to give their players more opportunities to be seen and recruited. One of the most important benefits to players is the exposure to the MISL, through all-star games and organized tournaments.
The Soccer Center's mission is to develop soccer players from our communities into leading soccer talent with the ability to compete at the highest levels of soccer. This is accomplished by providing an environment where professional training, high level competition, knowledge of the game and individual development makes a successful soccer experience. The players on the team range in ages from 17-25, many are local amateurs, collegiate players, All-Star, and current A league players. The players receive no salaries or stipends. This allows the players maintain their amateur status.
The question has been asked in regards to using a larger venue i.e. Tacoma Dome. By keeping the smaller venue, the ticket prices are more affordable allowing fans to attend more games. They will be able to follow the progress of the local talented players and teams as they compete in this highly competitive league. We offer many opportunities for the ticket holders to meet the players and form a relationship which helps create a following. The Tacoma Stars offer the younger players an opportunity to first-hand watch how their "soccer dreams and aspirations" play out.
If the team is successful in their Winter League, our organization will be considered for hosting the National Tournament. This is our major goal for not only the Tacoma Stars, but also for Tacoma, Washington.

After a short-lived break the Tacoma-Stars are back and ready to compete for another chance at Nationals. The Tacoma Stars is a competitive team that competes in the Premier Arena Soccer League. The PASL is the top developmental league for the Major Indoor Soccer League, the only professional indoor league in the country.The final draft was just completed last week. The coaches had a great pool of players facing off against the old timers for a spot on the new Tacoma Stars. It should be a great game as the new blends with the older experienced players to face off against Chico Bigfoot.
