TYLA Team Rules for the 2009 Season
You are responsible for your own equipment: All players must provide their own gloves, helmet, elbow pads, shoulder pads, cleats and a stick. All players will be issued uniforms shirts by the TYLA. PYLL rules prohibit the use of hockey helmets.
If you forget to bring your equipment to a game/practice, you will not be allowed to play. All TYLA assigned equipment will be collected on the day of the Jamboree. If you fail to return your complete uniform that was assigned to you at the beginning of the season by July 1, 2009, you will be charged $50. If you do not pay these charges, you will not be allowed to register for the Spring 2010 Season until the charges are paid or the equipment is returned in good condition.
Players are to arrive at practices and games on time. Players are also to be picked up on time. Coaches typically have their hands full so do not expect them to provide transportation for your player. Make necessary arrangements with other team parents. On days of inclement weather, we may have shortened practice so a parent must make arrangements to either be present or have their player picked up.
TYLA requires that a player commit to his team. All teams will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Though most games will be on Sundays, we will also play on some practice nights. If you cannot make a practice or a game, you must call your coach, in advance, to let him know. If you miss both practices the week before a game, you will not play in that game. If you miss one of the practices, your playing time in the next game will be reduced. Players attempting to juggle more than one sport will find it very difficult to satisfy the requirements of both teams and should decide which sport they want to play. It is not fair to either sport¡¦s team to give less than your full commitment. A player may have no more than 4 unexcused absences before being dropped from the roster and replaced by a player from the waiting list. This would be subject to coaches' discretion.
Conduct on the field shall be sportsmanlike at all times. Foul language, intentional cheap checks, the heckling of opposing teams or a display of disrespect to any member of the coaching staff or game referees will not be tolerated. Players or parents whose conduct is determined to be inappropriate will be asked to leave the field. In extreme cases, a player may be dropped from the team entirely.
