Manager's Code of Conduct
You are the most visible representative of Teaneck Southern Little League (TSLL) and must set a positive example for the players and parents. You need to exhibit good sportsmanship, positive leadership, and respect for all players, coaches, umpires, parents, and volunteers. You are expected to follow these guidelines any time you represent TSLL, both on and off the field.
Listed below is the Coaches Code of Conduct.
I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow coaches, players, and parents at every game and practice by demonstrating good sportsmanship.
I will hold a parents meeting before the start of the season and explain the behavior expected of the players and their families at games and practices.
I will make the Players Code of Conduct and Parents Code of Conduct available to the players and their families.
I will cheer and encourage my team, not against the opposition. I will instruct my players and their families to do the same.
I will praise my players often and regularly.
I will treat my own child like other players, no special favors and no special punishment.
I will practice with my team consistently throughout the season.
I will attend every practice and game or have a qualified coach in my place and notify the team that I cannot attend.
I will listen to players and parents and address any concerns that they may have.
I will try to ensure, to the best of my ability, that the players on my team have a fun and rewarding baseball experience.
I will follow and enforce all Little League and TSLL rules.
I will give all players a fair amount of playing time. This will not just be based on ability, but by the time, effort, and sportsmanship that the player shows.
I will treat all coaches, players, officials, and fans with respect and I will expect to be treated accordingly.
I will ensure that the players have a safe environment to practice and play. This will include providing field maintenance before and after every game and practice.
I will encourage the parents to be involved with my team in some capacity because it is important to running a successful team.
I will teach my players that practicing, sportsmanship, and playing to the best of their abilities is more important than winning or losing. We won't place blame for losses on a player or the umpire, but use it as a learning experience.
I will meet with my team immediately following all games. We will discuss the game and I will answer any questions that the players may have.
I will remember that youth baseball is an opportunity for the players to learn and have fun.
I will shake hands with the opposing team after every game and my team will do the same.
I will make sure that all coaches on my team understand and follow this code of conduct.
The following guidelines will provide an environment that is sure to create an enjoyable experience for all our players, coaches and parents.
* Any coach using foul or abusive language or gestures to any other coach, player, parent, or umpire WILL be ejected from the game.
* Physical fighting is an automatic ejection from a game.
* Any coach ejected from a game is automatically suspended from the next game and will be required to appear before the President and Division Director.
* Any coach ejected from two games will be required to appear before the President and Division Director and will be suspended for the rest of the season.
*Any coach found to be using foul or abusive language or gestures or fighting before or after a game or at practice will be suspended from the next game.
The Board of Directors will automatically review all ejections. They may act to suspend a coach for the rest of the season by majority vote.
I hereby pledge to be a positive role model and accept responsibility for my participation by following this Code of Conduct.
