Teaneck Southern Baseball League

Please visit this site often and scroll all the way down for new information!
Fall Travel Teams:
The all-star team is an add-on experience for those children and parents who have the desire to play additional baseball beyond the regular league season. The fall season runs from September through the end of October. Your child will probably be asked to attendat least one practice and play at least one game per week. You will be traveling to other towns, and the cost will vary depending on the age group. In order to try out, your child must have been registered to play in Teaneck Southern this past spring, however, all-star participation is entirely OPTIONAL ... and not all children who try out are guaranteed to be chosen. Participation on prior all-star teams DOES NOT guarantee selection to the fall team.

9U Travel Team
The 9U Teaneck Southern Travel team fell to Big Bad Bayonne tonight in the District Championships, but holds the second place trophy. Congratulations to the team for getting so far and doing so well this season.
And a special shout out to JonJon Conahan for his amazing home run over the center field fence at Phil Apreda Field. Not bad for a nine-year-old, huh?
WAY TO GO, TEANECK!

Congratulations to the Dodgers!
The last place team in the National League pulled in out in the end -- thanks to efforts by all! The Dodgers played a great game, led by Anthony Apreda and Ethan Varela on the mound.
Shows what a little faith and a lot of hard work can do!
AND...
The Red Sox take the pennant on the American League side with the season's only over-the-fence homerun by Julian Mumford.
It's outta here!

Anthony Apreda completed his hat trick and concluded his Teaneck Southern career with an over-the-fence home run in the championship game against the Mets at Phil Apreda Field.
In his last-ever appearance at Teaneck Southern, Leo Voreacos cracked a grand slam over the fence in the Cardinals-Giants consolation game.
Anthony Apreda of the Dodgers knocked ANOTHER one out of Phil Apreda Field off of his ex-good buddy, Leo. That's two for Anthony, one for David Sdrougias, any more contenders...?
David Sdrougias of Mets' fame cleared the fence the week before.
Congratulations to Max Ballas-Bograd for slamming the most balls over the fence in the National League Home Run Derby.
Malik Brittain took the prize for the American League.
Way to go, guys!
A HUGE thanks to all who worked so hard to make the Memorial Day tournament so successful ! It was great to see the town work together for a common cause. Go Teaneck!
Wanted!!!
Any and all able-bodied adults and / or high school kids looking for community service hours, are encouraged to help prepare the fields after a soaking rain like we've had the past two weekends. The same few people need help so YOUR children can play. Don't wait for an invitation. We'll be at the field early on weekend mornings after a rainfall and weeknights when we've had rain as well.
We'd love to see you there!
We thank you for bearing with us as we work to make the decisions that are best for the children of TSBL.
Please direct all questions to your child's manager.

THANK YOU, SPONSORS!
Without the support of our sponsors, we wouldn't be able to provide a fun, safe place for our kids to play ball. Please support our sponsors
as they have supported us!

Accident Form
Hey Coaches,
Here's the official Accident Report Form. Here's a couple of guidelines too:
This form is only used for "major" injuries not cuts and bruises but "significant" injuries that require more than simple on-field or dug-out attention. A good "rule of thumb": if the injury prevents a player from returning to the game than it is serious enough to be documented.
If a cut requires stitches than that should be reported. If a player twists an ankle and cannot return that should be documented as well. These reports are not punitive in any sense of the word but do give us a way of tracking our care of the children. This form can also be used if a coach or umpire is injured. This form is for on-field injuries and NOT for spectator injuries. It can be used for practices, cage warm-ups, etc.
