The 2015 Adult Softball Season:

Some 2015 Spring/Summer Season New Rule Changes Include:

A team may have a maximum of  five (5) non-residents  on their roster.  All other players must be
residents and/or taxpayers of Brookhaven Town.

* COURTESY RUNNERS may be used for two batters each inning.  Runners may be any roster
member of the offensive team whether they are listed in the current batting order or not.
          a)   If the same batter reaches base twice in an inning, you may run for that batter again.
          b)   If a courtesy runner is on base when his turn at bat comes up,  he is out.   He is removed
from the base and takes his proper turn at bat.  If the out is the 3rd out of an inning, he
will be the first batter in the next inning.  (For the full rule, read REGS section M. COURTESY RUNNERS)

All infielders playing on Turf Fields must wear Turf Shoes or Sneakers.  Cleats and metal spikes
          not allowed.

*  Only properly registered players and managers are allowed in the dugout areas or on the playing
fields.  Violation of the rule may be grounds for forfeiture.  See USSSA 2015 Rule Book,
          Rule 5, Section 9, on page 33.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN SOFTBALL
The green glistens and the brown swirls in the early morn,
The white is clean and the orange is a shock as the day is born.
Trees encove this sanctuary of play where no one is forlorn,
The switch is thrown and power encompasses
The color is a pale shade of corn.
Prints appear on the ground all around
which represents future memories,
Only the goal that is to be reached
is what every member sees.
Contrasting against the hazy air
are colors before these bare arms that refuse to freeze,
and impassioned grunt from a man in red
begins the game that aims to please.     ~Jane Hawkins 5/27/06
