HANG ON - I'M GETTING READY

The 4th Ward Adirondack Timberjaxx are looking to improve on their 2011 season, which was not a bad season. This year we are greatful to the 4th Ward Bar & Grill out of Plattsburgh who have agreed to again sponsor us 100%.  This will be the fourth time in the history of this ball club that we will not worry about the entry fee or paying the umpires.  Any new players looking to play for the Timberjaxx should contact Manager Jim Knight Jr., Tim Lafave or D.J. Barber as soon as they can.  We are sure to have a full roster.

D.J. BARBER NAMED MVP OF THE YEAR FOR THE TIMBERJAXX

D.J. Barber has been selected as the 2011 Fourth Ward Adirondack Timberjaxx Most Valuable Player.  Other players in the running were Justin Mahan, Josh Chapman, Aaron Goldfarb and Jim Knight Jr.

The most standout credit to Barber was the fact he made all 18 ball games.  He hit .433, with 26 hits including six doubles and stole a team high 19 bases.  He drove in 12 runs, mostly batting from the one and two hole.  His fielding at shortstop was excellent and he also pitched well.  He was a very versatile player.

Justin Mahan was the power hitter on the team with four home runs, one triple, four doubles and a total of 20 hits.  He was the leading RBI man with 28 while batting .339.  He was a great catcher and played the infield as great as he caught.

Josh Chapman traveled all the way from Malone to play first base for the Timberjaxx.  He had a batting average of .410, ten RBI's and 25 hits, including one home run and two doubles.  He was tied with Mahan with 17 runs scored.  He was an excellent fielding first baseman.

Aaron Goldfarb was the equal to Barber in games played, and actually played one more game that did D.J.  Goldfarb was a prolific lead-off man batting .345 with 20 hits and 18 walks.  Aaron scored the second most runs to Barber with 20.  He too proved to be a very versatile player playing the infield and outfield.

Jim Knight Jr. was only available for about half the season.  He had a batting average of .500 with 15 hits and 15 RBI's.  His hits included three doubles and one home run. His slugging percentage of .700 and on base percentage of .579 made most pitchers fear him.

It is the fourth of July weekend, but there is a ball game between the last place Hockey Plus Padres and the third place Timberjaxx.  And the game is on SATURDAY not Sunday.  Please give of your time and be at the game with a friend if necessary... SOFTBALL IS KILLING BASEBALL

It has been a hardship for good ball players to play softball and baseball at the same time.  It seems that the players have chosen to be stars in softball while letting their baseball teams down.  If this keeps up, there will soon be no CVBL left.  Anyone can play softball, but it takes a better player to play the game of baseball.  How about it players, why let your baseball teams down?

Monday, June 13
HEAD-ON CLLISION WITH FIRST PLACE LYON MT. WASHED OUT SUNDAY

The games for this past Sunday at South Acres and the first pace Lyon Mountain Miners were cancelled due to rain and cold weather.  A make up date has not been announced.

TIMBERJAXX GETTING SET FOR THE 2011 CVBL SEASON

The Fourth Ward Adirondack Timberjacks are gearing up for a new season with new players and bigger dreams.  There will be some changes in the staff of the Timberjaxx for the coming season.  The former manager Jim Knight Sr. will take over as General Manager while Jim Knight Jr. will take over the reigns as the manager. The assistant manager will be D.J. Barber.

The Fourth Ward again will graciously fund the Timberjaxx and it is hoped that all players will show their appreciation by stopping in at the Fourth Ward following the ball games.

We are asking players that are not returning to the team please make arrangements to return their uniform tops.  If they can not do this, there will be a $35.00 charge for the uniform top.  We plan on purchasing some new uniform tops to fill the gap.

This website will soon be updated.  Please keep checking back for the latest updates.
