Update 12/21
Most of all the Christmas was delived to the families this weekend and were all very grateful, One little girl was found in the window yelling the gymnasts are here, the gymnasts are here! We would like to say thanks to all who donated and a special thanks to Erica Gallmeyer who helped cordinate all of this for TGC this year. Erica noticed that the last family did not have all the things back that were put up on the board so to make sure each of the children and family members get something please bring any items that have not been by the gym immediatly for delivery. Thanks to all of TGC who made 6 Indiana families Christmas a little brighter.
Update 12/18
TGC Optional Team Girls will be delivering these gifts Saturday evening as a part of their Christmas Party. Each of the levels will split up and deliver to 6 different families. If you still haven't delivered your gift to TGC please make sure you have it at the gym by the end of Open Gym tomorrow!
Update 12/11
All of the TGC Staff would like to say thank you, as of last night all items are now taken from the board, Awesome! Now for the next task at hand, we need to make sure all items are wrapped and turned in by December 19th so that all the TGC Optional Teams will have them to deliver! Yep, that's what they are doing for their team Christmas Party they wanted to do the deliveries in person. That's the Team Spirit hear at TGC that we are so proud of! Getter' done!
Update 12/4
We still need some more help! There are 4 more items left on the board at the gym so if you can still help out our families please do so by picking an item, purchasing, wrapping and bring it back to the gym by December 19th! All of these items come with sizes and specifics because they are going to an individual. Lets all pitch in!
Update 11/23
We would like to remind everyone that December 19th is the deadline to drop off Christmas gifts that have been wrapped for the families. There are still a few more gift items left on the board for those TGC Members that can help.
Update 11/20
The Christmas shopping has begun for the families and anyone can participate. All the items needed are listed in the lobby at TGC as you come in the front door, just pick an item you want to buy and then bring it back to TGC. Coach Kim said to let everyone know that if you find a specific type of item you have special access to and it is under a different group than you are in you may still pick that item to purchase. An example of this is one mom was a school teacher and had special access to books so she wanted to pick the book items under each of the categories and that is okay! You may also take as many items as you want just please make sure if what you take you do bring back as we want TGC to be able to keep it's commitment. We are off to a great start which makes us very proud and just goes to show what morals the TGC family is made of.
Luke 2 (King James Version)
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Matthew 2 (King James Version)
7Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
8And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
Many have heard the story and these verses may explain that Jesus was not born rich and wealthy he was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger not clothes of a great king or an expensive crib, this may also explain why we share gifts among one another to be in his image; giving and caring as were the wise men who sought him out to worship him and give him gifts. Feel free to share the whole Christmas story as you can read it in the Bible in both the Book of Matthew Chapter 1 & 2 and Luke chapter 2.

All Team and Class Members
We have decided to do something new for the holidays this year. We will be partnering with Bethany Christian Services (www.bethany.org) this year to help out some families that will not be able to have Christmas otherwise. We will be collecting items until December 19th and we do ask that you bring your gift in wrapped with the tag on it. We will be sending more information home next week as to what items we need and how you go about participating. We are going to have the instructors in both team and class talk to the children each week to let them know what we are doing. Once the items are collected on December 19th we will take a picture of each group with their gifts and that will be our Christmas card to the family that we are helping. With all of our families here we are hoping to help 6 families in need. We will pass out more information starting on Monday, November 9th.
