What is Open Gym?
Open gym is just what it sounds like. It's a special time set aside when the gym floor is open to everyone, members and non-members. Many gymnasts and cheerleaders use this time to practice skills their instructors have asked them to work on in class or practice. For others, it’s a time to see what gymnastics is all about. There are instructors on the floor at all times to insure safety, to assist, and spot you on those skills you are working on. All you have to do is ask!
Open gym is for all ages, and parents can go on the floor for free! Many parents take their toddlers to the preschool area of our gym to get some one on one time with their children. If you bring your child to our gym and are interested in classes afterwards, just stop by the front desk for a schedule and class information. The Gymnastics Company offers parent and tot classes starting at the age of 18 months and up. We offer recreational classes for both girls and boys. As your gymnast advances in skills we offer a competitive gymnastics team that competes in two conferences.
The Gymnastics Company welcomes gymnasts that attend other gyms that do not offer this type of practice time or that just want to see what The Gymnastics Company is all about. This is also a great time for those gymnasts or cheerleaders who compete in high school or middle school to come in and get extra practice as well!
Open gym may also be used as a make-up for classes you might have missed in our session if you can't seem to find the time for a make-up class.
Open gym is every Saturday from 12:30-2:00pm unless otherwise specified on our calendar page.
The cost for open gym is $5.00 for our members and $8.00 for our non-members. Many times you can find free open gym coupons at the Chick-fil-a located on Southport Road, Build-a-Bear & Island Hoppers in the Greenwood Mall, or on Coupons4Indy.com. You can see our sponsor page for details.
