Cheerleader Contract
CHEERLEADING CONTRACT
I am willing to make the following commitment to Thomas Dale High School, the coaching staff, and the other members of my squad:
“I understand that in order to be an athlete, I must maintain a healthy mind and body which will require discipline concerning not only physical conditioning but also with negative influences such as drugs, alcohol, and smoking. I am aware that consuming any of the aforementioned products could harm my health as well as the health of my teammates who depend upon me. I also understand that I may be dismissed from the squad at the discretion of the coach should I partake of any harmful and/or illegal substances.” I am obligated to read the Code of Conduct.
In addition, I WILL:
1. Work hard individually to achieve the goals set by the squad and/or coaching staff.
2. Be on time, attend every practice, and come with a positive mental attitude, and to adhere to the point system schedule of the Thomas Dale Cheerleaders’ Guidelines form.
3. Discuss with the coach in advance when there are personal conflicts with practice and/or games.
4. Leave my outside activities out of practice.
5. Give constructive criticism when appropriate.
6. Accept constructive criticism for my own good and the good of the squad and not consider it as a personal affront to me.
7. Become an active member of the team.
8. Give 110% all of the time, not just when I am feeling positively.
9. Take care of the uniforms and equipment and arrive at practices, games, and school-sponsored events neat and clean following the stipulations set forth in the Thomas Dale Cheerleaders’ Guidelines form.
10. Follow all rules including VHSL rules communicated by me and rules set forth in
the Thomas Dale Cheerleaders’ Guidelines form (coaching staff will inform you
of what to wear for each cheer sponsored event).
11. Take pride in my school and my team.
12. Conduct myself as a leader both in and out uniform, knowing that my behavior
creates an image for my squad and school.
13. Maintain the proper VHSL academic requirements in order to remain a member
of the squad.
14. I am aware that if I am dismissed from the team or choose to quit the team, I
may not be selected for future teams. (Effective Fall 2007).
I realize I will be a member of one of the top cheerleading squads in the area and a leader in my school. I have read the Cheerleading Contract and am willing to make that commitment by signing this form to be kept on file with the coaching staff.
