2005 Season
TC Roberson starts the season on Saturday August 13th at Henry River Soccer Park in Hickory with 3 scrimmages. TCR beat North Forsyth 1-0, lost to Alexander Central 0-1, and beat Vance 2-1. On Saturday August 20, TCR will host the Mountain Jamboree at John B Lewis Soccer Park on Azalea Rd. The Rams tied McDowell 0-0, beat Smoky Mountain 5-0, and beat Piedmont 3-0. TCR kicked off the regular season by defeating Statesville 4-1 at the Freedom Invitational.TCR defeated Mooresville 3-2. TCR beat Newton-Conover 2-1 to win the Championship of the Freedom Invitational. Robert Franklin was named overall MVP and Mitch Snyder was named Most Outstanding Defender. Jamie Shope and Corbin Jennings were named to the All-Tournament Team. TCR beat Polk County 1-0. TCR lost to New Hanover 2-3 and tied Charlotte Latin 0-0 in The Mellow Mushroom Tournament. Rod Hubbard and Mitch Snyder were selected to the All-Tournament Team. TCR beat Forestview 1-0. TCR lost to Watauga 3-2 in overtime. TCR opened MAC conference play with a 2-1 win over Franklin. TCR beat North Buncombe 6-0. TCR beat Greenfield 4-1. TCR lost to Asheville 1-0. TCR beat Enka 7-0. TCR beat AC Reynolds 1-0. TCR beat Erwin 6-0. TCR beat Tuscola 6-0 on ABYSA Youth Night. TCR defeated Franklin 1-0. TCR beat North Buncombe 4-1. TCR lost to Asheville 1-0. TCR beat Enka 5-0.TCR tied Central Cabarrus 2-2. TCR beat Jacksonville 3-1. TCR beat Erwin 8-0. TCR beat Tuscola 4-2.

TCR finishes the regular season 18-4-2 overall and 10-2-0 in the Mountain Athletic Conf.
The Rams beat South Point 5-1 in the First Round of the 3A State Playoffs. TCR beat Forestview 4-3 in the Second Round. TCR lost to Charlotte Catholic 2-1 in Sudden Death OT in the Third Round.

TCR finishes the season 20-5-2, Great Job Rams !!!!

RAMS SEASON ENDS IN SUDDEN DEATH OT AT CHARLOTTE CATHOLIC
The TCR Rams played with tremendous heart in their final game of the season in the third round of the state playoffs, losing to Charlotte Catholic. Robert Franklin scored in regulation to tie the game and force it into two ten minute OTs and then into Sudden Death OT where Charlotte Catholic scored the golden goal. Senior Brendan Turk had 9 saves.

9- FRANKLIN- David Kennerly scored the first goal.

10- NORTH BUNCOMBE- Robert May scored 2 goals.

11- GREENFIELD ACADEMY- Richie Pryately had 1 assist and created the own goal with the long throw-in.

12- ASHEVILLE- The entire team worked very hard.

13- ENKA- Taylor Allen scored 1 goal and added 1 assist.

14- AC REYNOLDS- Every Player deserves credit for this hard-fought win over previuosly unbeaten ACR.

15- ERWIN- Sean Baker scored 2 goals.

16- TUSCOLA- Jamie Shope had 2 goals and Rod Hubbard had 3 assists.

17- FRANKLIN- Brendan Turk recorded his 9th shutout on 4 saves.

18- NORTH BUNCOMBE- Robert Franklin had 2 goals.

19- ASHEVILLE- The whole team played hard.

20- ENKA- Vincent DeLille scored a goal and added an assist.

21- CENTRAL CABARRUS- Robert Franklin scored 2 goals.

Former TCR Player David Testo battles Freddy Adu
Former TCR player David Testo is playing with The MLS Columbus Crew. David was the North Carolina State Player of the the Year in 1998. He went on to play at South Carolina and then tranferred to North Carolina were he helped the Tarheels win the national championship. David was named the rookie of the year in 2003 playing for the Richmond Kickers of the A-League.
