2003 Season
The 2003 Rams kicked off the season with a 8-0 win over RS Central on Tuesday. Todd Byard had 3 goals. TCR beat West Henderson 9-0 on Thursday. The Rams lost to Mt.Tabor 3-1, Caleb Alexander scored the lone goal. TCR beat AC Reynolds 7-1 on Wednesday. TCR defeated Greenfield and Myers Park in the Mellow Mushroom Tournament. The Rams began the MAC season with a 7-1 win over Enka. The Rams lost 1-0 to rival Asheville on Monday. TCR defeated North Buncombe 4-0 and tied Athens Drive 1-1. TCR beat East Henderson 9-0 on Monday and Tuscola 4-0 on Wednesday. TCR beat Erwin 8-0 and Smoky Mtn. 12-3. TCR beat Franklin 8-0 to finish off the first half of the MAC schedule, 7-1-0 and 12-2-1 overall. TCR beat Enka 9-0 and Asheville 4-1. TCR beat North Buncombe 7-0 on Monday, beat East Henderson 9-0 on Wednesday, and Hickory 4-3 on Saturday. TCR beat Tuscola 4-0 on Monday and Erwin 11-0 on Wednesday. TCR beat Smoky Mtn 5-0 on Monday and Franklin 7-0 on Wednesday to win the MAC Championship finishing 15-1-0 and 21-2-1. TCR beat Tuscola in the second round of the 3A state playoffs 6-0 . The Rams beat #1 Ranked Forestview 3-0. TCR beat RS Central 2-0.TCR beat Mooresville 1-0. TCR beat White Oak 4-0 for the 3A State Championship. GO RAMS!!!

It's official: The Rams are state champs for the second year in a row
TCR defeated White Oak 4-0 to win the 2003 3A State Championship. Caleb Alexander was named MVP of the game scoring 2 goals. JT LaBruyere and Brad Moody scored 1 goal each. Nic Baud had 2 assists and Todd Byard had 1 assist. Patrick Browne recorded the shutout on 7 saves, his 19th of the season. The defense held all playoff opponents scoreless.

Player Of The Game
1. RS CENTRAL- Todd Byard scored 3 goals.

2. WEST HENDERSON- Caleb Alexander scored 3 goals and added an assist.

3. MT.TABOR- Caleb Alexander scored the lone goal and was dangerous all game long.

4. AC REYNOLDS- Rod Hubbard and Andrew Pickens, both had strong games in the middle.

5. GREENFIELD- Caleb Alexander had 2 goals and 1 assist.

6. MYERS PARK- Joey Polonsky scored the first goal and had an assist. He, also led the defense in a come from behind victory.

7. ENKA- 3 players scored their first goals of the season; Nic Baud, Rod Hubbard, and Andrew Pickens.

8. ASHEVILLE- Patrick Browne made 6 saves.

9. NORTH BUNCOMBE- Brad Moody scored less than 30 seconds into the second half to begin an offensive outburst in which the Rams 4 goals in 10 minutes to take over a close game.

10.ATHENS DRIVE- Joel Benotski had a great game marking Athens Drive's top player.

11.EAST HENDERSON- All of the team played well. Caleb Alexander had 3 goals and 1 assist, Todd Byard had 1 goal and 3 assists, and JT LaBruyere had 2 goals.

12.TUSCOLA- Nic Baud and Ben Hulkower, both scored second half goals to seal the victory.

13.ERWIN- Robert "Bobo" Franklin scored the natural hatrick finishing 3 goals in a row.

14. SMOKY MTN-JT Labruyere and Caleb Alexander each had a hatrick.

15. FRANKLIN- The Trio of JT, Todd, and Caleb finshed with 5 goals and 6 assists.

16. ENKA- Several outstanding performances: JT had the hatrick, Caleb was unstoppable with 1 goal and 4 assists, Brad had 2 goals and 1 assist, Nic's wicked freekick, and Robin's great 50 yard run and finish.

17. ASHEVILLE- Once again the entire team played outstanding in this must win game with our most bitter rival. I am proud of the intensity and heart, along with the skill shown in beating the cougars 4-1.

18. NORTH BUNCOMBE- Mitch Snyder had 4 assists. JT LaBruyere had 3 goals. Caleb Alexander had 2 goals and 1 assist, and Robert Franklin had 2 goals.

19. EAST HENDERSON- Patrick Browne, Henry Carballo, and Byron Marsh, all scored their first career goals.

20. HICKORY- Caleb Alexander scored 2 goals and drew a pk, when he was taken down in the box.

21. TUSCOLA- THE DEFENSE-Led by Joey, Joel, Mitch, Ben, and Nic completely shut down a very potent Tuscola offense, holding them to just 2 shots.

22. ERWIN- Robert Franklin had 2 goals and 1 assist.

23. SMOKY MOUNTAIN- Brad Moody had 2 goals. Nic Baud and Ben Hulkower were great defensively and starting the attack.

24. FRANKLIN- Todd Byard had 4 goals and 1 assist.

25. TUSCOLA- JT LaBruyere and Caleb Alexander each had 2 goals and 2 assists.

26. FORESTVIEW- The entire team played outstanding.

27. RS CENTRAL- Caleb Alexander had 2 goals. The Defense recorded their 17 shutout.

28. MOORESVILLE- Patrick Browne recorded his 18 shutout on 12 saves.

29. WHITE OAK- The entire team's defensive effort was outstanding in the state championship, recording their 9th straight shutout. Goals were scored by Caleb Alexander (2), JT LaBruyere and Brad Moody.
