Player of the Game 2002
ST. STEPHENS-JT LaBruyere scored 2 goals. FREEDOM- Matt Morrison had 2 goals. STATESVILLE- Andy Beamer had a great game in the midfield and the back. He notched his 4th assist of the season. EAST CHAPEL HILL- Brian Fitzmaurice had 1 goal and 1 assist. WATAUGA- Joey Polonsky and Todd Byard each scored 2 goals. ENKA- Matt Novchich recored 4 saves in a shutout of previously unbeaten Enka. ASHEVILLE- Joel Bernotski came off the bench and did a great job on defense. The entire team pulled together and overcame a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 in OT. NORTH BUNCOMBE- JT LaBruyere scored 3 goals. HUNTER HUSS- Forwards Todd Byard and Brian Fitzmaurice each scored 2 goals and 1 assist. Joel Bernotski was outstanding shutting down Hunter Huss' top player. EAST HENDERSON- Todd Byard and Joey Polonsky each had 2 goals. TUSCOLA- Brian Fitzmaurice had 2 goals and 1 assist. Adam Schwartz played great in his first game back scoring a goal. ERWIN- Todd Byard had 4 goals and 3 assists. Brad Moody had 3 goals. SMOKY MOUNTAIN- Todd Byard, Brian Fitzmaurice, and Ben Hulkower scored 2 goals each. FRANKLIN- JT LaBruyere had 3 goals and 1 assist. AC REYNOLDS- Brian Fitzmaurice and JT LaBruyere each had 2 goals and 1 assist. ENKA- Todd Byard scored 2 goals and Matt Novchich had the shutout with 9 saves. ASHEVILLE- No one player stood out as it was a total team effort to comeback from being behind 0-2 to win 3-2. NORTH BUNCOMBE- 14 different players had a goal or an assist, no one will forget Phil's free kick or Mitchell's first varsity goal. The team scored the first 5 goals off headers. EAST HENDERSON- Joey Polonsky and Adam Schwartz had 2 goals. TUSCOLA- Brian Fitzmaurice scored 3 goals and had 2 assists. ERWIN- Brian Fitzmaurice and JT LaBruyere each scored 3 goals. Fitz also added 2 assists. SMOKY MTN- Matt Novchich had a shutout and scored a goal on a PK. FRANKLIN- Todd Byard and Brian Fitzmaurice scored the only goals. CREST- JT LaBruyere and Adam Schwartz had 2 goals and 1 assist each and Andy Beamer scored 2 goals. SOUTH POINT- Brian Fitzmaurice scored 2 goals and had an assists. HICKORY- Everyone on the team played outstanding. RAGSDALE- Six different players scored in the 6-1 win. Again the entire team was outstanding. WHITE OAK- Brian Fitzmaurice had a goal and an assist.
