Jared transfered to TC Roberson just 15 months ago but left us with a lifetime of memories. He brought out the best in his teammates with his style of play and never say die attitude. He could spark his teammates out of a lackluster performance with one of his patented runs or slide tackles. More than once we heard the opposing team's fans ask who was that guy after he stole the ball from one of their players, being unaware of his presence.
His infectious smile lifted the spirits of us all and won the hearts of his many admirers.
Jared, as we discovered this week, your passing has already created the greatest outpouring of love most of us have ever seen. Your death will not have been in vain if we can all remember what we learned this week...to love one another, teammates, family and friends. A hug can mend many a broken heart and maybe save a life. Parents, take a moment to mentor to a child other than yours; just a couple of minutes out of your day. The fact that an adult shows an interest in a teenager other than their own can have an incredible impact on a teen's life.
Jared, we love you more than you could have ever imagined. We will miss you more than you could have ever imagined, but we will never, never forget you!!
