Welcome to the T.C. Roberson Men's Soccer Webpage. The Rams are coached by Rob Wilcher, the NSCAA Division 2 National Coach of the Year in 2002, and have a long tradition of success on the field. TCR has made the state playoffs 31 times and is 65-29 over that span. The team annually finishes ranked in the Top Fifteen in the State and has played in five state championship games,winning the 2002 and 2003 3A State Championships. TCR was ranked #1 in the Nation and Region 4 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the fall season of 2002. TCR was ranked 5th in Region 4 and Received Votes in the Final National Poll in the fall of 2003. The 2008 and 2011 squads were ranked for a time in the ESPN Fab 50 National Poll. The TCR program has sent many players onto the college level and also has had players play for the USA in international competition. The program has produced 4 All-Americans and numerous All-State players. We hope you enjoy the site and please sign our guestbook.
2012 Season
The 2012 season has begun. TCR played well in the ACR scrimmages and against West Henderson in a scrimmage. TCR beat Ashbrook 2-0 in the season opener. The JV's won 1-0. TCR beat Hendersonville 5-0 and the JV's won 4-1. TCR lost to East Henderson 1-3, the JV's won 4-0. The Rams travel to the coast this weekend to play in the Battle of the Beach Tournament. TCR was rained out against Wake Forest Rolesville Friday and beat Hoggard 3-1 on Saturday. TCR defeated Tuscola 7-1 and North Henderson 5-1. TCR beat St. Stephens 3-0, the JV's won 6-0. TCR beat Ronald Reagan 2-0, the JV's tied 0-0. The Rams opened up MAC Conference play with a 9-0 victory over McDowell, the JV's won 7-0. TCR beat North Buncombe 6-0 and JV's won 3-0. The Rams beat Erwin 4-0, the JV's won 3-1. TCR defeated Asheville 3-2 in OT, the JV's won 3-0. TCR beat AC Reynolds 4-1 in OT, the JV's won 3-0. TCR beat Enka 5-0, the JV's tied 0-0. TCR beat McDowell 9-0, the JV's won 7-0. TCR beat Shelby 1-0, the JV's won 5-0. TCR defeated North Buncombe 3-0, the JV's won 4-0. TCR lost to Hickory 3-0. TCR beat Erwin 10-1, the JV's won 5-2. TCR beat Asheville 4-2 to win the MAC Conference Championship, the JV's won 4-0. TCR beat AC Reynolds 3-1, the JV's won 3-0. TCR beat Enka 4-0 on Senior Night to close out the regular season 20-2-0 overall and 12-0-0 in conference. The JV's beat Enka 3-0 to finish the season 16-0-2.
TCR beat Butler 5-1 in the 1st Round of the 4A State Playoffs. TCR beat Porter Ridge 3-2OT in the 2nd Round of the 4A State Playoffs. TCR beat North Mecklenburg 4-2OT in the 3rd Round of the 4A State Playoffs. TCR beat Watauga 1-0 in the 4th Round of the 4A State Playoffs. TCR lost to Myers Park 0-1 in the Semi-Finals of the 4A State Playoffs.
TCR finished the season 24-3-0.
