Pitched one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in 6-0 victory over Litchfield in opening round of the Class S tournament ... Season also included a three-hit/six-strikeout win over Tourtellotte; a complete-game, 13-strikeout win over Plainfield; a 10-strikeout effort over Windham and an extra-inning victory over New London ... Finished with 7-2 record and team-best 3.09 ERA, with 55 strikeouts and 19 walks in 56.2 IP ... Also hit .328 with team-high seven extra-base hits ... Hard-throwing righthander went 1-1 with 3.82 ERA for Senior Legion team in '07, with his win over Glastonbury clinching a spot in the postseason zone tournament for T-C ... Also hit .238 in part-time duty at third base, homering in his first Legion game vs. Danielson ... Was nominated for Rawlings Futures Game ... Fully recovered from non-baseball-related knee injury that forced him to miss Tri-County's 2007 Fall Legion season ... Split time with T-C Senior Babe Ruth team for part of '07 summer, helped team to SEC playoff championship and struck out 18 in early-season contest ... Capped a stellar junior season at Lyman by being named to the first Connecticut High School Coaches Association Junior Select All-Star game, when he pitched two innings against some of the best high school juniors in the state ... Highlights of his high school season included complete-game shutouts of Ledyard (eight strikeouts) and Wheeler (eight strikeouts), and an eight-inning complete-game victory over Griswold (nine strikeouts) ... Finished with 5-2 record and 3.57 ERA and also hit .296 with 20 RBI ... Went 5-2 with one save during sophomore season that included one-hitter over East Hampton and two-hitter over Portland ... Past member of Tri-County Jaycee-Courant and summer All-Star teams who was pitcher/infielder on 13- and 15-year-old state-tournament qualifiers ...
