Profile: Rising sophomore at Sacred Heart University, was regular in rightfield and as part of rotation for the Pioneers as a freshman ... Was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week (April 27) after hitting three homers, driving in eight runs and winning a game on the mound during a four-game weekend series against Fairleigh Dickinson … Was also impressive with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief (of Berlin Legion Post 68's Jack Wagoner) in 5-2 loss to Tulane, which received Top 25 votes all season and appeared in the NCAA Tournament … Led the 12-41 Pioneers in HBP (12) and stolen base percentage (.750) and finished second on the team in homers (4), third in runs (26) and fifth in RBI (17) … Also finished with three pitching victories (second on the team) in 13 mound appearances, with his 53 innings pitched fourth on the team … In second full season with Tri-County's American Legion team in 2007, posted some ridiculous numbers that led to his unanimous selection as a Zone 7 All-Star starter and MVP nomination in the zone ... Led team with .504 OBP (including 16 HBPs), 4 home runs, 21 RBI, 23 runs, .576 slugging percentage and 12 stolen bases (in 15 attempts) ... Second on team with .353 average ... Also went 1-3 on the hill with 3.13 ERA in seven games (five starts) ... As senior at Lyman Memorial, earned All-State and All-ECC honors ... Season included a complete-game shutout of NFA and a 14-strikeout performance against Plainfield ... He also had games with 12, 10 and 9 strikeouts and was selected to play for District IV in the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Senior All-Star games ... Finished 7-3 with 2.73 ERA and hit .377 with two home runs and 10 doubles ... Was also named to All-State team as a junior after going 5-3 with 2.56 ERA and hitting .333 with two homers ... Went 5-0 with a 1.71 ERA as a sophomore ... Named to two All-COC teams before league disbanded ... For the 2006 Tri-County Fall Legion team, he went 1-0 with a save and a 2.10 ERA while opponents batted just .194 against him in six games. ... Played two summers for the AAU Connecticut Selects before joining Tri-County ... Four-year letterwinner at Lyman Memorial, where he also ran cross country (one letter) and played basketball (three letters) ... Gets it done in the classroom, as well, leaving Lyman in 2007 as No. 4 in graduating class ... Sister Katie, a rising senior, pitched the Lyman softball team to the school's first state championship in 2007 and pitched back-to-back no-hitters in the 2008 state tournament ... From Lebanon.
