Comets Showcase in Frigid Conditions over Easter Weekend
The Comets showcased in front of a number of local and regional college coaches this weekend at the Philadelphia Soccer Club during the MAPS Spring College Showcase. The frigid weather and strong winds made for unpleasant playing conditions, but the Comets played some solid soccer. While disappointed with Fridays match results the Comets faired much better on Saturday. With one Comet already signed to play college and three others having given verbal commitments, these showcase events provide an excellent opportunity for the Comets to showcase their individual skills in their quest to continue playing soccer in college.

Comets Started Spring Season Strong Despite Cold Weather
The Comets were eager to begin Spring match play, and competed in three league matches between Saturday, March 10th and Sunday, March 11th. Saturdays MAPS League match was against the Matchfit Academy Magic. This hard fought, physical match was continually interrupted due to the number of fouls being called by the officials, which disrupted the flow of the match. The fierce wind was the biggest factor of the day and caused whichever team that had the wind to their back to have the advantage. At the end of the match, the score was tied at 2 goals apiece.
Sunday saw the Comets play two skilled soccer teams in the Region 1 Colonial League. The Comets first match was against the Baltimore Bays. The Comets moved the ball well in this fast paced match and had some beautiful goals for their 4-1 victory. Their second match of the day was against a strong Vista Hot Shots team. Both teams played well and set up a number of scoring opportunities. In the end the match score was a 1-1 tie.

In the first match against the Baltimore Bays '89/'90, the Comets played well but both the Comets and Bay's defense worked hard to cut down on the scoring opportunities.
