COMETS ADVANCE TO QUARTER-FINAL IN STATE CUP!!!
The TBAA Comets played host to division rival GAK Jersey Girls on Saturday. The girls on both sides played a whale of a game, with the Comets coming away with a 1-0 win. The fans at this game were treated to an exciting, well played match, that had plenty of action right up to the final whistle. Congratulations to the Jersey Girls on a great tournament run, and good luck to the Comets as they advance to the "elite eight", to face another division rival, Marlton Extreme next week at Fort Dix.

COMETS SHINE AT WAGS!!
The TBAA Comets first trip to WAGS turned out to be a successful and exciting experience. The Comets opened the weekend with a hard fought 1-0 win against Arlington United. Next up was a highly touted Ohio Premier team. The Comets fell behind 2-0 in the first half, but were able to turn things around in the second session. After a furious rally, the girls closed the gap to 3-2, but ran out of time. The Comets left the field disappointed in the score, but with a ton of team pride. Wanting badly to end the weekend on a high note, the Comets came out firing on Sunday morning. The end result was a 5-0 win against the Annandale Magic. The coaches and parents were extremely proud of what the girls accomplished over the weekend. The Comets were able to shutout two teams, and lose an exciting match that went down to the wire, against the team that went on to play in the championship game. The girls had a great weekend, and are looking forward to going back to WAGS, and building on what they accomplished this time around.

COMETS BUSY SUMMER ENDS
After taking first place at the Beattie Memorial Tournament in Council Rock by beating Greater Chester Valley, Pearls, Lenape Valley, and Hulmeville, the Comets returned to South Jersey to play in their own "Milllenium Madness" Tournament. It was a tough weekend for the Comets who took second place, behind their old rival Haddonfield Hurricanes. The Comets lost no games over the weekend, and gave up only two goals, but could only muster three goals of their own, tying both West Deptford and Haddonfield 1-1, and beating Cinnaminson 1-0. This past weekend the Comets traveled to East Brunswick. It was a great weekend of soccer. The Comets finished the weekend 1-1-1. After beating the Bridgewater Flames 2-1, losing to Robbinsville 2-1, the Comets needed a win over the PDA Power to gain a semi-final berth. The Comets held a 1-0 lead lead deep into the second half, but PDA was able to get even with a goal of their own late in the game. Knowing a tie would not guarantee a playoff berth, the Comets came on strong and scored a go ahead goal with three minutes left, only to have it disallowed. The win would have been nice, but neither team deserved to lose this game. The girls were disappointed, but the coaches realize what the players accomplished this weekend, and couldn't be more proud of their girls.

COMETS "ROCK" COUNCIL ROCK!!
The Comets traveled to Council Rock this weekend and took first place in the Beattie Memorial Classic. The Comets were undefeated for the weekend, beating Greater Chester Valley 6-0, Hulmeville 4-1, Lenape Valley 3-0, and Pearls 5-0. The tourney win was a true team effort, with tough defense and many different players contributing goals. The coaches could not be happier with how the team handled itself, in its first time out as a "full-sided" team. The girls are looking forward to this weekend, when we play host to our own tournament, "Millineum Madness". Great matches are expected as we will face West Deptford, Haddonfield, and our old friends at Cinnaminson. The Comets haven't faced West Deptford for a while, but had exciting, well played matches this spring against Haddonfield and Cinnaminson.

COMETS CAPTURE FIRST PLACE
Congratulations to the TBAA COMETS on capturing First Place in the National Division of the SJGSL Spring 2000 season. The girls set their goals high, and put in a lot of work to achieve it. They really deserve the success they've enjoyed this year, and are looking forward to the challenges that are ahead of them. WAY TO GO GIRLS!!
