The SUFFOLK COUNTY BASEBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION
represents High School Baseball on eastern Long Island in New York State.
To follow the New York State Public High School Athletic Association
system, Suffolk County Baseball will play under the "5 classification" format.
2010 League Structure...
The 56 High Schools that play baseball in Suffolk County are placed into eight leagues.
28 Class 'AA' teams
League-1... Brentwood, Wm. Floyd, Longwood, Patchogue/Medford,
Ward Melville, Sachem East & Commack.
League-2... Lindenhurst, Sachem North, Connetquot, Northport,
Central Islip, Bay Shore, & Walt Whitman.
League-3... West Islip, Newfield, Centereach, East Islip, Hills East,
Smithtown East & North Babylon.
League-4... Copiague, West Babylon, Riverhead, Smithtown West,
Deer Park, Bellport & Hills West.
17 Class 'A' teams
League-5... Eastport/South Manor, Kings Park, Hauppauge, Comsewogue,
Islip, Huntington & Harborfields.
League-6... Sayville, Rocky Point, East Hampton, Miller Place, Westhampton,
Amityville & Shoreham/Wading River.
League-7... Mt. Sinai, John Glenn & Bayport/Blue Point.
5 Class 'B' teams
League-7... Southampton, Babylon, Mattituck & Hampton Bays.
League-8... Center Moriches.
5 Class 'C' teams
League-8... Port Jefferson, Southold, McGann-Mercy, Pierson/Bridgehampton
& Stony Brook School.
1 Class 'D' teams
League-8... Smithtown Christian.
Suffolk County Baseball Playoffs...
Suffolk County will crown eight League Champions. Those teams plus any team that
has a 1 game better than .500% league season will enter the Suffolk County playoffs.
Each playoff team competes within their classification. As the playoffs conclude,
4 Suffolk County Class Champions will be crowned along with 1 Qualifier.
One Class 'AA' Champion, one Class 'A' Champion, one Class 'B' Champion,
one Class 'C' Champion and one Class 'D' Qualifier.
There must be at least 2 teams within a Class that qualify for the Suffolk County
tournament before a Class Championship can be played.
New York State Baseball Playoffs...
The 5 Class Champions will then represent Suffolk County in the New York State
Baseball Championships. That playoff system ends when 5 New York State Class
Champions are crowned.
Class 'AA' = 950 or more students
Class 'A' = 550 and 949 students
Class 'B' = 325 and 549 students
Class 'C' = 193 and 324 students
Class 'D' = 192 or less students

Season Begins............. Monday March 8th
Scrimmages................. Saturday March 20th

League games............. Monday April 5th
Playoffs games.......... Tuesday May 24th
