Coach Higley enters his 20th season as Head Coach with TCY Swimming. Coach Higley has been involved in swimming either as a competitor or as a coach for 38 years and has received The American Swimming Coaches Associations highest level of certification of a Level V coach.
Coach "H" is a firm believer in developing technique and focusing on the details.
Over the years the Stingray program has continuously built upon its reputation of being not only a team with FAST swimmers, but a team that understands correct technique and continuous improvement.
Academic excellence,leadership, and spiritual development are three other key components that Coach Higley and his staff focus on developing.
Through the years the Stingray program has excelled at the local,regional, and national level with TCY Swimming having participated in the YMCA National Championships for the last seventeen consecutive seasons. TCY Swimming has sent alumni on to swim at the following colleges and universities; Xavier University, University of Maryland, Lehigh, Davidson, Towson, Bucknell, Gettysburg, Washington College(MD), St.Mary's(MD), Salisbury University, Harvard, Lafayette, Bryn Mawr, University of Pennsylvania, United States Merchant Marine, Sesquehanna University, Mary Washington University,Clarion University, Penn State.
Coach is originally from Salem, Massachusetts where he swam for the Salem YMCA (North Shore Swimming)and resides in Easton with his wife Marilynn and their daughter Meghan. Coach Higley has two older son's Jonathan and Justin who both are graduates of TCY Swimming and attended and swam for SSPP H.S. and both went on and have graduated from Xavier University, Cincinatti, Ohio.
