TCY Swimming: Welcome

Welcome to TCY Swimming 2009 - 2010

TCY Swimming is located in Easton, Maryland and has provided a competitive program for over 40 years to swimmers from throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland at the YMCA of Talbot County.

Throughout the years TCY has formulated a very successful competitive program at the local, state, and national level of both YMCA Swimming and USA Swimming.

The program is based on the core values of the YMCA and TCY Swimming focuses on developing swimmers through technique.

Merry Christmas From TCY Swimming 

On Monday, 12/21/09 and Tuesday 12/22/09 all age groups will practice from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Our younger swimmers will wrap up at 6:30 as normal while all others will go until 7:00 p.m.

Thanks to all of the TCY Swimming families for making this years Toys for Tots drive a big success.  Our team donated over four full boxes of toys for less fortunate families for the holidays.  This is a true blessing as our families are helping out others of the holidays :)

TCY Swimming had a very good day vs. MDY Swimming winning the meet by a final score of 430 - 278.

 The team saw very strong performances from all age groups and saw Tori Weems set new team standards in the 9-10 girls age group / 100 im, and 100 fr and Tori is very close in the 50 fr.  Congratulations Tori.

The 11-12 boys continued to swim very fast by again re-breaking the 200 fr relay mark. Congratulations Joshua, Jacob, Anthony, Nate.

 The area's of improvement and opportunity for this years team continue to be in the area of backstroke focusing on the turn transistion this rule continues to indicate that once the turn is initiated the swimmer must make a consistent initiation through the turn our swimmers are doing a good job getting to the turn and the back end of the turn is clean however the initiation must be smoother.  We will continue to focus / refocus in this area.

 Overall kids have made great progress as this meet finishes out our competition schedule until after the New Year.

 TCY Swimming had a great weekend at Towson University participating in the Mark Schisler Invitational Meet.  TCY swimming Finished second overall as a team just behind SPY swimming and ahead of meet host CATY Swimming.

Our 11-12 Boys took down the 200 Free Relay record that had stood since 1998 by the team of Jonathan Higley, Trevor Carouge, Aaron Clark, Adam Lohr.

The new record was set by Anthony Lee, Joshua Brown, Jacob Brown, Nathan Wo Jo !!!!

 Congratulations Boys:)  And to the entire TCY Swimming Group for a GREAT WEEKEND:) 

The meet saw TCY swimming rise to 96% "best times" in a performance which was very good from all age groups.

 In addition to swimming fast we had the great pleasure to see TCY swimming Alums Wade Boarman, Ray Boarman, Greg Remesch, and J.B. Hall.  It was great to see our alums and very thoughtful that they all took time out to come and visit with the kids.  They are great young men:)

Clinic Filling Fast Act Today to secure you spot :) 

The Fitter & Faster Tour has announced they will be making a stop in Easton, Maryland at our very own pool!

We will have three of the top swimmers in the world leading the one-of-a-kind swim event, include; Olympic gold medalists Peter Vanderkaay and Megan Jendrick and U.S. Open Record Holder Nick Thoman.

Kids will have the chances to Learn from the best Hear their stories Hold their medals and of course race the Olympians.

Included in the participation is a gift bag with t-shirt, event program and swim cap. Parents and supporters are also encouraged to attend for free with their swimmers participation.

The event planners have allowed our team first opportunity to sign up, before it sells out.
