Xplosion Baseball 14U
The Xplosion 14U travel baseball club is a member of USSSA and Nations Baseball. We compete in the Northern Virginia Travel baseball League (NVTBL) as well as several regional tournaments. Our goals are as follows: To develop a competitive team of talented players while instilling good work ethics, respect for the game and sportsmanship. Provide a higher level of competition as to prepare the players for the next level of play and beyond. Provide extensive off-season baseball specific workout programs to further develop players. We strive to improve the overall baseball skills of all our players through this experience. The 14U Xplosion will be participating in the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League during the 2012 spring and summer season.
Wednesday, August 4
The Virginia Xplosion traveled to Cooperstown on July 24 to compete against 103 teams from all over the United States and Canada in the Cooperstown Dreams Park National Tournament. With pool play victories over the Simi Valley Sharks (CA) 11-2, North Jersey Extreme (NJ) 8-5, Doylestown Tigers (PA) 8-4, North Royalton Bears (OH) 11-1, Rockville Rockets (MD) 6-3, and the Quad City Redbirds (IA) 9-7 in extra innings, the Xplosion earned a #9 seed out of 103 teams and a bye to the round of 32 in the single elimination tournament. With a 6-2 victory over Training Camp Baseball from Tennessee on Wednesday night, the Xplosion advanced to the sweet 16 before falling to the La Canada Spartans (CA) on Thursday morning. The team finished with a record of 7-1.
The Xplosion finished the Spring/Summer season with a record of 41-14 which included wins in the Nations Baseball March Mayhem Tournament, Old Dominion Baseball League Tournament, and USSSA Stars and Stripes Tournament.

The 14U Virginia Xplosion (Currently 13U) will hold tryouts for the Fall season on Friday July 22 and Monday July 25 at 6pm at Nike Park (1085 Utterback Store Road, Great Falls, VA 22066) If you are interested in attending the tryouts, please RSVP to: xplosion97@comcast.net
Friday, June 10
On June 8, Members of the Virginia Xplosion and their families attended the Haymarket Senators baseball game in Haymarket Virginia. The Senators are members of the collegiate wooden bat Valley Baseball League. The Xplosion players got a chance to shag balls during batting practice, meet with the Senators coaching staff and accompany the Senators players on the field during the National Anthem. Special thanks to the Senators organization for a memorable experience.
