CHESAPEAKE REGIONAL FINALS ARE CANCELLED FOR 2003. PLANNING WILL BEGIN IN SEPT FOR THE 2004 SEASON WITH HARFORD COUNTY HOSTING "THE BATTLE OF THE CHESAPEAKE"

HCTB wishes to apologize to the players, their parents and the coaches who put forth a tremendous effort to qualify for this tournament as well as putting their lives on hold. Thank you for your commitment to HCTB in 2003.

Chesapeake Regional Title Games Information Update
All:

I am disappointed to report the Chesapeake Regional Finals will be
cancelled due to the inability of Baltimore County to meet the
deadline. Net is, we did all we could, except take
the idea and own it completely. I still envision this type of regional title games to be an important part in giving hope to the youth playing baseball, they each have the opportunity to earn a right to win the title.. "Chesapeake Regional Champion"

Please pass on from the league and my personal apology to all the
coaches, parents and players, whom we let down. We had a successful
season despite the obstacles thrown at us. The league will have a
meeting in September for all coaches and coordinators to wrap up the
concerns from the 2003 season, and begin planning the 2004 season. A
separate email will go out in the next week with the date and location.

Thank you for your patience. I look forward to serving HCTB next year
with an enhanced vision to improving the quality of baseball for the
youth of Harford County.

Respectfully

Jim Harding
HCTB Commissioner

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF BALTIMORE COUNTY RECREATION AND PARKS.

Dear Friends,
We know you are all aware of what September 11th means to our country. As this anniversary date approaches we are asking you to join us in remembrance for all those who lost their lives on September 11,2001 and for all those brave men and women who continue to fight for our freedom.

We are asking all recreation programs being held September 11,2002 to select an appropriate time (perhaps at the beginning of a game or class) to pause in silent reflection and pay respect to the victims and heroe that gave thir lives.

We are also encouraging everyone to dress in red, white and blue on this solemn occasion as we remind ourselves that America remains strong and that the courage and strength of its citizens will not diminish.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we stand together in the spirit of American pride and patriotism.

Sincerely,

John Weber, III

Director
