 CHEER TRYOUT INFORMATION

MANDATORY MEETING: May 23rd CANCELLED RESCHEDULED FOR MAY 30TH  6:00-7:00 pm (Room D102). Parent, guardian or representative must attend. Important information will be given.  If you attended the May 9th meeting you do not need to attend.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE PACKETS: Due on or before 1st tryout date.  If you are not involved in a spring sport or you are an incoming student or freshmen you must be cleared to tryout. Packets may be dropped off in the main office and ask to place it in the cheer box or you can hand it to the advisors on May 29TH at 4:00pm.  

TRYOUT PACKETS: Due on or before 1st tryout date. Packets may be given to the Advisors on May, 29TH between 4:30-6:00pm or on May 29th 4:00pm.  

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRYOUTS

*Attend Mandatory Meeting - a parent or guardian must attend the meeting -next one May 30TH

*Clearance required - download Athletic clearance packet from school website. Physicals required to tryout. Turn in packet to Advisors or drop off in Cheer box at school prior to tryout date.  (Note: if you are selected to be on one of the teams a new physical will be required dated in June. 

*Report card - last 2 terms

*Tryout packet -  (See handouts to download)

*Rules & Guidelines - signed by parents and student 

*Tumbling requirement: Must have strong tumbling skills for the Varsity team.

*Competitions - if selected you must be part of the spirit squad as well as the competitions and abide by all the rules and guidelines. Attending community service events is also required.

 TRYOUT DATE:

TRYOUTS THIS YEAR WILL BE CONDUCTED IN A 2 DAY PROCESS-See below.   

May 23rd, 5:00- 7:00pm  cancelled 

May 29th,  May 30th, May 31st Tryout Clinic  5:00pm - 7:00pm  (dance & cheers)

June 1st   - Tryout Day 1, 3:00pm - 6:00pm, Judging of cheers & dance, *Groups of 4 *All frosh will be scheduled after 4:00pm 

June 2nd  - Tryout part 2 - Judging of Jumps, Tumbling and Stunts -   10:00am - 2:00pm  - In they gym. 

IMPORTANT DATES TO KNOW: 

"No contact Period" July 23- August 6 (please plan your vacations during this time)

Meeting & Practice : June 4th  (time to be determined)

Uniform fitting & Practice:  June 6th (4:30 Frosh, 5:30 JV, 6:30 Varsity (meeting with coach following uniform fitting) 

Camp - July 19-22  - NCA at UCLA 

First Day of School: August 16th
