GOLD RACERS ARE SHOWDOWN OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS!!!!
While our Country Western Showdown Tournament record was only 1 and 2 (congrats to Timmy and Grant on a shut-out and blame the refs for all the rest)....the Gold Racers pulled out a huge victory by handily winning the Showdown Olympic Skills Competition! We were most impressed with Coach Nelson's performance as he brought home the relay!!! What a fun way to the end the season. See everyone Saturday for the Team Party. GREAT SEASON RACERS!! NASHVILLE OR BUST....and TEAM PARTY!!
We will see everyone this Friday, March 13th at the Southern Ice Rink in Franklin, TN at 5:45 p.m. (Nashville time) for our final tournament of the season. This has been such a FABULOUS season, so it is only fitting that we will cap it off with a team party at Stardust Bowl in Noblesville on Saturday, March 21st from 2:00-4:30. It will be a great time to celebrate all of the players and their great accomplishments! GO RACERS!! Saturday, February 21
RACERS DEFEATED IN BTHL SEMI-FINALS
The Gold Racers fought hard but came up short in a tough semi-final game of the BTHL Tournament against the Northern Kentucky Norsemen. Great effort and the boys should still be proud of their second-place finish in the Squirt AA League standings. Practices will continue as we get ready to face the Squirt 99 Racers next weekend as well as our trip to Nashville in March. BE PROUD RACERS!! Sunday, February 8
GOLD RACERS SECOND-PLACE IN BTHL STANDINGS!
The Racers pulled out two very important wins against the Cincinnati Cyclones today. The first game came down to the final 10.6 seconds resulting in a 3-2 victory by the Racers. The second game ended much more comfortably with a solid 9-1 win. These two wins round out our final league games and put the Gold Racers in 2nd place in the BTHL Standings. We will enter the BTHL tournament on February 20th and 21st in a great position to win it all! Let's get in some great practice in the President's Cup Tourney next weekend. Way to go Racers! Tough Saturday!
The Gold Racers had two tough non-league games against the Cincinnati Cyclones 98. All these snow days and school delays made for a poor showing and two tie games. But, the good news is that the games were "just for fun!" Let's get it together and "show-up" for our final two BTHL games against the Cincinnati Cyclones 99 next Sunday. GO RACERS! PRACTICE CANCELED
Practice is canceled for tonight, January 28th. While players are welcome to use the ice if the rink remains open...there will be no formal practice. We will see everyone on Saturday morning by 8:50 a.m. at Sports Plus in Cincinnati. Monday, January 19
BEST GAME OF THE SEASON and practice change this week!
WOW RACERS!!!! The Gold Racers played their best hockey this year against the Springfield Kings in the Championship game of the Midwinter Classic. Although we fell just short after double overtime and a shootout....all in attendance would agree that the boys played absolutely AWESOME. Great effort and excellent goal tending all weekend got us to the championship game and the weekend was a great experience for both the players and their families. Keep up the good work and we will see everyone on Thursday this week at 5:30 at the Arctic Zone with their white game jerseys! GO RACERS! Sunday, January 4
Great Games!
The Racers got some great practice and fought hard in two really tough non-league games against the Columbus AA/AAA team and the Cleveland Warriors AA/AAA. Both games were very competitive despite what was reflected by the scoreboard. Now lets get ready for a BTHL-full weekend in Columbus, Ohio along with some NHL fun next Saturday night. GO RACERS!! Please note the new LATER game times for this Sunday, December 14th as 9:45 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. in Columbus, Indiana. GREAT GAMES and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
The Gold Racers played two GREAT games against the Northern Kentucky Norsemen. While parents and coaches froze to death, the Racers dominated game one getting out to a big lead before finally winning the game 6-3. Game two proved to be most exciting with both teams playing hard with multiple lead changes and ending in a much deserved tie of 6-6. Let's get in one more practice and then gear up for turkey! Racers play hard against Columbus Blue Jackets 99/AA!
Great effort by the Racers on Sunday, beating the CBJs 99/AA 3-1 and then ending the weekend with a tie of 3-3 against the CBJ's. Let's maintain this intensity as we head to Northern Kentucky on Saturday for two league games at 3:00 and 5:30. GO RACERS!! Sunday, November 9
Gold Racers Lose in Silver Sticks Semi-Final!
The Racers fought hard just to advance to the Silver Sticks Semi-Final game against the South Bend Irish Rovers. The Irish Rovers clearly wanted victory more, defeating the Gold Team 5-1. While defeat is always tough, we need to WANT IT and GO FOR IT in order to win. Let's get some rest and attack the Columbus Blue Jacket's 99/AA next Sunday at the Arctic Zone at 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. GET FIRED UP RACERS!! Sunday, November 2
Racers defeat Cincy AA and split with CBJ's 98!
The Gold Racers played hard this weekend! Congrats to our goalies on a double shut-out at the Gardens against the Cincy Cyclones AA on Saturday. We came out to win on Sunday but just fell short in our first game against the Columbus Blue Jackets 98 team, losing 3-2. The Racers refueled and came back scoring 5 goals before the end of the first period in game # 2 against the CBJ's, winning 6-3 in the end. Great job on a 3 and 1 finish. HERE WE COME SILVER STICKS! See everyone at 2:15 p.m. (one hour before our 3:15 pm. start time) this Friday in Fort Wayne. GO RACERS!! |
