Spirit America FC was formed in 2009 by Chris Cook (former Lee's Summit High School and Missouri Southern State University soccer player) and Bryan Davenport (former Truman High player). Chris and Bryan met at LSSA and have the same passion for developing a fun, skilled soccer team. Chris and Bryan merged their teams and played in the Kohl's Cup as a recreational team. Following that success, the coaches and parents formed Spirit America FC in June of 2009.

Chris has coached competitively since 2009 and recreational soccer from 2005-2009. Chris is a USSF licensed coach. Current team Spirit America FC/Spirit G-U11.

Bryan (National D License) has coached competitive soccer since 2005 coaching U-10 Girls-High School Girls competitive teams. Bryan also has coached recreational soccer at LSSA since 1999. Bryan was a referee at Raytown Soccer Club as well as Raytown High School from 1996-1999. Bryan currently has his USSF National D license. Teams Bryan has been associated with: Spirit America FC Girls 99/00, KC Select Renegades Girls 92/93, KC Select Intensity Girls 92/93, KC Select Fusion Girls 92/93. KC Select Brazil Girls 92/93, LSSA G-U10, LSSA B-U6, LSSA G-U15, LSSA B-U9.
