******************************2013 Sping League Update*****NEWS FROM USSSA FRANK GRIFFIN

Welcome to Southwest Classic Baseball.

NEW for the 2013 Season.

Southwest Classic has approved the following cities as approved host venues. All teams wishing to play with Southwest Classic Baseball must register through one of the listed approved host venues.

I wanted to take this time to remind all directors, players and managers to read the USSSA rule book located online at USSSA for all rule changes.  There is some confusion on the New MLB rule concerning the fake to third throw to first move by a pitcher.  The rule states that their are no fakes to third from the rubber.  It not only eliminated the third to first move but it eliminates all fakes to third from the rubber.  The only base you can fake to from the rubber is 2nd.  Please make sure your umpires are aware of the change.  Remember that if a pitcher steps off the rubber (towards second), he is now a fielder and this does not apply.

Frank Grifin

Approved Host Venues:

Cedar Hill – Dallas - Desoto - Duncanville – Ferris - Grand Prairie - Lancaster - Midlothian – Ovilla - Red Oak - Waxahachie
