Southtowns Volleyball Club of Western New York

The mission of Southtowns Volleyball Club is to provide quality competition and skill training opportunties for male athletes interested in improving their volleyball skills,to allow for growth of Western New York Volleyball, and to provide different exposure to the athletes while participating in competition that is at a higher level than they are used to seeing in WNY.

We are proud to have had STVBC players go on to play at some of the finest DII colleges including Mercy Hurst and Quincy. Others have chosen DIII power house schools including Springfield, Medaille, D'Youville and Nazareth.

Over the past six years Southtowns Volleyball Club has become a recognized club gaining in strength and quality while producing some of WNY's finest players.  Our goal is to provide players with the best training possible while having fun and promoting volleyball as a lifetime activity.

Team selection is competive. The players selected for their respective teams are expected to represent the club with class and participate in all activitite and events scheduled by the club.  Players will be placed on a team based primarily on their ability, sometimes playing above their age classification. If there is more than one team in a various age group, selection to a team will be by players ability.

Official club practices usually begin in mid December and run until the East Coast Championships(Memorial Day weekend) or the USA Junior National Championships (first week in July) depending on where the team places during the season.

Practices will last from two to three hours on Sundays between the hours of 12:00 - 5:00 and will be held at the Hamburg High School,as well as other local sites that may become available.  Additional weekly practices will be held later in the season or the week of a Tournament to allow players to get more court time. Teams will be provided with a monthly schedule that will be e-mailed to each player. They will also be posted on our web site.

The travel aspect of Southtowns VBC includes one or more tournaments per month. Our club tries to keep costs reasonable to allow for maximum participation.Players dues cover most tournament entry fees as well as uniforms and equipment. Additional costs such as travel, food, lodging and coaching expenses are the responsibilty of the players and their families. Team members and parents must be prepared to support the travel, cost and time commitments necessary to participate in all STVBC activities.
