South Suburban Wildcats of Lincoln-Way: My Site News: 5th Grade Team Takes 2nd Place in South Elgin Tourney

Building on last weekend’s second place finish at the South Side Shootout at Moraine Valley and an equally impressive 2-1 record at the IBA, the 5^th Grade Wildcats took 2^nd place in the South Elgin tournament this past weekend.  The weekend was highlighted by another win over the Xplosion (by 11 points) and a hard fought victory over a very loud Geneva team.  In the end, even with a strong team performance, the Wildcats fell a little short in the championship game to the tournament host South Elgin Storm Chasers.

I believe this is what is called momentum!! 

This week we welcome Dana O’Grady to the 6^th grade team, while Kylie rejoins the 5^th grade team.  These two additions will help the Wildcats prepare for a busy next few weeks. 

The 6^th graders go to Hobart, IN on Sunday, February 24^th for a one-day tournament and all three teams (4^th, 5^th and 6^th) prepare for games the weekend of March 1^st.

Congratulations to the 5^th grade team!!  Thanks to all the parents for their continued support and helping us keep basketball fun.
