South Sound Starz

Thank you for visiting the South Sound Starz website.  Our goal is to provide a fun and educational lacrosse experience for advanced lacrosse players at 4 major age groups.  5th/6th Grade - 7t/8th Grade - 9th/10th Grade - Elite High School.

We are a part of the STARZ organization which provides players the ability to be seen and noticed by College Coaches at all levels.  The STARZ organization has a full time staff that is dedicated to helping your child navigate the college application process as well as the recruiting process.

The local South Sound Starz has a staff of 10 very experienced and knowledgeable Coaches that love the game of Lacrosse and have played or coached for over 8 years each.  Most with over 8 years playing and 3 years coaching and some with 20 plus years of coaching.

Leslie Blaisdell, Lori Carr, and Laura Davidheiser have taken on the administration side of the team and we are very thankful to them for making things right.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

11/30/08:   This week all four teams will have practice.  5/6 and 7/8 from 4 to 6.  9/10 & Elite from 6 to 8.  5/6 Players - This is your last practice, so please all come.  We need to know what numbers we are going to have for the Seattle Shootout.

Co-Directors:  Jason Stockton and Kevin Leary

November Trips / Game information

WOW - What a GREAT month South Sound Satrz has had.

The 7/8 team went to Oregon and participated in their Play Day and won all 5 games that they played in. The development has been great and Coach T.J. and I are very pleased with the effort and results we are seeing.

The 9/10 team went to Oregon and participated in their Play Day and came back with a 3-2-0 record.  This was with a limited team as some players were back east with the West Coast Starz.

The following 10th Graders were selected to go to the Adrenaline High Rollers tournament:

Kevin Park (UMBC) - Could not have played better.  Was noticed and is on the watch list.  They love to see an athletic player that gets it done off the field as well in the Class Room.  He will have the big time schools drooling over him next year.
Dillon Cavanagh (Maryland) - Great weekend.  Many impressed with your work on the field and how you bounce up from the hits and just keep on going.  Scored a goal in every game and lit it up in the last game with 3 goals.
Colby Carr (Maryland) - Played well. On a team with a lot of middies but when on the field worked hard and got it done.
Mitchell Homeyer (Princeton / Notre Dame)- The Goalie Coach and two others made a point to come up to me and say how impressed they were with your play.  You listened and learned at camp this summer.  They cannot wait to see you next year.  After an initial placement on a team that just did not jell, Mitchell was moved to our team and played in one game as well as the Championship game. He made two huge saves with the championship game tied up to keep the team in it so they could then go on and win.
Gregor Davidheiser (Fairfield) - The self-proclaimed "Beam of Light" shed some light on the Northwest.  The team dynamics just were not there, but Gregor got it done in every game. You have matured into a very good player and you were noticed.  Excellent hustle all weekend.
Quinn Moody (Fairfield) - Was not blessed with a cohesive team, so very difficult.  Quinn kept working and was in the correct place a lot, but did not get rewarded with the pass.  Do not worry.  The off ball movement was noticed and is appreciated by the recruiters.

The Elite team went to the Adrenaline High Rollers tournament (The top 200 players from the West Coast were invited) and ROLLED over the competition.  They went undefeated in pool play (5-0) and then took the Championships for a final record of (6-0).  The College Recruiters that were there noticed many of the players and some left with offers to think about.  Everyone played great this weekend to their potential or brought it to a new level.

The New Level players were:
Taylor Dean - Many coaches interested - Secured an invitation to Blue Chip this summer.
Sean Gorey - Where did you come from?  Great weekend of Scoring - Coaches interested
Sam Snow - "It’s SNOWing again" - The Lehigh coach as well as others fell in love.  Maybe he will be playing with previous Bainbridge and Starz Grad. Dillon Massie
Devin Cavanagh - Had the best games of his life. Could not be prouder! College decision time!
Johnny Shapton - Face off machine.
