Pictures are coming up and other news

Pictures will be held on Monday, August 18th. Your coach will let you know what time as that is still to be determined.

Each coach should have coupons for Dick's sporting goods in case you need to purchase equipment. We found it online for MUCH cheaper at www.saysoccer.org, including shipping. If your coach doesn't have coupons, find me, Chris, at the fields and I'll give you 1.

We're all set and ready to run!

The teams are chosen and the coaches are being given their information as of the week of July 27th. You will be receiving a call from them to pass on more specifics about your team, but we wanted to make sure you noticed that the first practice will be August 4th for ALL TEAMS. We're doing something new for our league this year called Academy Practice. This will be where all teams from each age group will practice together 1 day per week working with not only their coaches, but also with the league coaches to get a more intense understanding of the basics skills needed. The older ages will find that they'll get to work more intense skills at academy than in their regular team practices. The end result is that the children will be shown a wider range of skills to work on at home and to use on the field. We hope it gets them even more interested in soccer than they already are. We know we are.

The draft took almost 4 hours and the teams are going to be extremely competitive in the U6, U8, and U10 groups. There are only 1 team in the U12 and U14 groups, but they're going to be top-notch also.

We're looking forward to some great things this year and we hope you are too. Contact any board member if you need more information.

Academy Practice Survey

This is just for fun - as soccer should be. We strongly feel that, as the coaches get more comfortable prepping and executing their Academy Practice strategies, the kids will learn more skills, have more fun, and enjoy soccer more.

As in any new thing, it takes time for a rhythm to develop. This is certainly no different. We are having fun exploring new ways to challenge the entire group of children through Academy drills and hope that you are seeing the benefits of it in terms of socialization, soccer skill, and enjoyment. By keeping all kids involved as much as possible, we reduce boredom and frustration as much as possible in this format.

But, what do you think? Take the survey and let us know.
