South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Pioneer League Co-MVP honors as a senior running back for our SOUTH SPARTANS! As a SPARTAN he ran for 1,549 yards on 140 carries (11.1 avg.) with 23 TDs and caught 13 passes for 200 yards (15.4 avg.) with 2 TDs in 2002 despite missing 5 games with a knee injury. As a junior in 2001, he was named to the All-CIF Division X first team, Los Angeles Times All-South Bay first team, Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Ocean League first team. He gained 1,975 yards on 225 carries (8.8 avg.) with 26 TDs, plus had 22 catches for 273 yards (12.4 avg.) with 2 TDs and returned 10 kickoffs for 324 yards (32.4 avg.) in 2001. As a sophomore in 2000, he made the All-Ocean League first team as he rushed for 1,548 yards on 179 carries (8.6 avg.). He also competed for in soccer and track (with a best of 10.5 in the 100 meters) teams.
CAREER: He has 1,778 career rushing yards, 22nd on USC's all-time rushing list.
PERSONAL: He's a sociology major at USC.

Nick earned three letters in football as an offensive tackle / defensive end for coach Waybright and our SPARTANS! His senior year, he recorded 56 tackles, including four sacks, had two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery, honored as a second-team All-CIF selection as a defensive lineman. He was named first-team All-Los Angeles Region as an offensive lineman. He was also named first-team as an offensive lineman by the South Bay Daily Breeze. He was selected first-team All-Bay League as both an offensive and defensive lineman. Named team MVP! He earned two letters in wrestling (275 pounds).

Chad played football for 3 years as a SPARTAN. Although he missed all but the first quarter of the season opener as a 1994 senior running back after breaking his collarbone. He started at wide receiver as a 1993 junior and was a part-time starting running back as a sophomore in 1992. He also sprinted for 3 years for South Torrance's track team, with career bests of 10.48 in the 100 meters (he finished seventh in the 1995 state 100) and 21.3 in the 200.
"Even in high school, I was always underestimated because of my size. Luckily I've had the speed to make up for my size. I don't think my size has hindered me at all. It helps when I play running back because I don't think the defense can see me. By the time that they do, I can use my speed to get by them."

Johnny played at the University of Southern California. He broke USC and Pac-10 records for receptions and yards. He was a wide receiver in the NFL. He was released by the San Francisco 49ers after the 2005 season and retired from pro football thereafter. Originally, he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 1st round (21st overall) in the 1994 NFL Draft. He played there until 2002, when he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played there for three years. He then signed with the 49ers and only played the 2005 NFL season with them. He made his Mixed Martial Arts début on the June 2, 2007, at K-1 Dynamite!! USA.

The Aztecs' fastest signee from the South High Spartans Class of 2006. South Spartan athlete Davon Brown, 5-foot-8, 175-pounder tested out with one of the top 40-yard dash times at the L.A. NIKE Camp last spring. One look at his highlight clips and it's evident Brown does not lose much speed with pads on. "When Davon gets into the secondary, that's it; he's just gone," said his coach Josh Waybright.
