Although this season has been filled with trials, tribulations and uncertainty, the one thing these young men knew in their hearts/souls is that they WOULD beat CLEVELAND.
What a sweet way to end your season (and for some 4 years of dedication, sweat, sacrifice and perservance for those that are SENIORS) by BEATING CLEVELAND!
The one thing I noticed last night, as well as hearing from grand parents and other's that normally can't attend the games but were there last night, is that one thing is consistent with SODDY DAISY TROJAN FOOTBALL and that is the SUPPORT of the FANS!
If you looked at the home stands last night @ Cleveland vs our stands, one thing was VERY OBVIOUS and that was the support that OUR team has. Not only do parents, siblings, grandparents, aunt's/uncles, friends and students come but alumni. A true sign of a family is when they all continue to come together to show their support and this could not be more apparent than at one of our football games.
We travel great distances (Science Hill & KY), stand/sit in the pouring down rain for HOURS, check out of the hospital following surgery the day of the last regular season game just to see their son play his final game for ONE REASON - TO SUPPORT THE YOUNG MEN!
To the young men of the SODDY DAISY TROJAN 2009-2010 Team - you have perserved through so much this season including changes to coaching staff, injuries, seriously bad weather and the flu.
Whether you were a starter every game or patiently stood on the side lines supporting your team mates, it is with the GREATEST amount of pride that we TIP OUR HAT TO YOU. EACH ONE OF YOU have demonstrated that it is the dedication within you that has not only brought you closer together as a group/team but you have established a bond with each other that will last throughout your years.
For the Seniors - As you prepare to begin a new chapter of your life, the bonds you have, will always be. Near or far, you will ALWAYS be ONE! As with everything in life, you just never know the outcome. Your accomplishments will ALWAYS be remembered (academically and athletically) and the memories even more so.
To ALL Players - Seniors & Upcoming Classmen
REMEMBER ONE THING .......
You ONLY get to live TODAY - ONCE!
No one can take away your dignity nor integrity unless you allow them to.
Never give up
Speak what is on your mind with respect as only YOU can stand up for yourself.
Never lower your standards/beliefs
ALWAYS HOLD YOUR HEAD UP WITH PRIDE! .
