Before a team can participate in any ASA sanctioned tournaments, each player must be ASA insured (certified) and coaches have to be ACE certified. Without these credentials, your team will be disqualified and not be able to participate in an ASA sanctioned tournament. Here are the procedures to register your team and coaches:
- Go to website: http://www.fastpitchsoftball.net/TournamentDirector.ASP?WCI=StartFrames&Selection=15&URL=welcometoasa.htm
- Click onto “free login”
- Scroll down to “sign me up now!”
- Enter the required information, but ensure that you sign up as a “TEAM” for membership type.
- Then click “Submit” and continue to follow step-by-step instructions.
- Once everything has been entered and ASA has issued you a password, you will need to go back into the website under your email address and use the password that ASA provided.
- On the left hand side of the screen, you can “Edit My Team info,” which you will need to do.
- Then you can click onto “Add a New Individual” and this is where you enter all your players’ addresses and other information required. You should “submit” after each entry.
- You will need to add any coaches to the roster (DL#’s are required for background check), too. Once coaches are entered, then the head coach (or at least one coach on team) has to take the ACE certification before any further steps are taken.
- Beside the coaches’ names, there is a place to click that says “click here to send email now.” This will automatically send you an email in which will take you to the site to take the ACE certification test.
- Once test has been completed, return to your “Registration ASA” site.
- Once everyone is entered and coach’s ACE test is completed, then you can click onto the “All Members have been added, send me to registration” button at bottom of page.
- You will need to select the type of insurance you want…one is $15 per player and includes a photo i.d. card and one is $10 per player and only includes the card and no photo.
- It will take you through each of the steps and you will need to create an invoice and then print it off and include the following to the address listed on invoice: Background check release forms for each coach, copy of Driver's License for each coach, copy of each player's birth certificate, and a check for the amount on the invoice.
- It usually takes 1 to 2 weeks to receive your cards.
- Once you receive your cards, you can go back onto the website and print “My Roster” which is located on the left hand side of the screen.
- The roster that I need says “ASA official roster front” and “ASA official roster back”…..I need both of these (can be printed front and back on one piece of paper)….and it needs to be signed by your ASA District Commissioner.
