Sitka Little League: Welcome

* This Thursday to Saturday, May 10th to 12th, Sitka High School will be hosting a region wide baseball tournament.   Games will be played at Kimsham and Moller.   All teams need to be aware that the cage and these fields will not be available for practices or games for Sitka Little League.   Enjoy the games this weekend!  *

Game schedules are now posted in the handout section.  We will be adding them to the league calendar soon.  If you are interested in umpiring or learning about umpiring, please call Tim Holder at 738-3640.

 2012 SEASON - IMPORTANT DATES   

Registration Dates (for Softball and Baseball):

March 6th, Registration on-line begins

March 24th, Registration deadline for players LAs 9 and over 

April 9th, Registration deadline for players LAs 8 and under

Season Dates (for Softball and Baseball):

   March 31st Tryouts for all players league age 9 and up (first day) 

   April 7th Tryouts for all players league age 9 and up (second day) 

   April 28th Opening Day Ceremonies

   April 28th Opening Day Games - Baseball Major / Junior leagues

   April 28th Opening Day Games – Baseball Minor / AAA leagues

   April 30th Opening Day Games – All Softball Leagues and T-Ball

Players Fees:  

   T-Ball $85  

   AAA / Minors $105 

   Majors / Juniors $115 

There will be a $20 discount for each player that registers by the appropriate deadline.

The maximum per family (registering at one time) is $200.

Volunteer Positions To Be Filled

Concession Manager:

• 	Coordinates pricing and preseason ordering for all three concession stands.
  	

• 	Coordinates with DEC to obtain necessary permits for stands.
  	

• 	Works with City to make sure water and electricity are turned on for the season.
  	

• 	Assesses needs for new equipment or supplies for stands.
  	

Concession Managers for:

Blatchley / Vilandre Field ~ KGH Field ~    Moller Field 
  Each concession location manager is responsible for:

• 	Making sure their stand is ready to open on opening day.
  	

• 	Is stocked each week with the appropriate supplies.
  	

• 	Assisting team parents in making a master season schedule for their field.
  	

• 	Schedules volunteers to work when SLL hosts events (i.e. Opening day ceremonies)
  	

• 	Makes sure that deposit envelopes are available and being used. 
  	

• 	Helps makes sure that Volunteers know safety and cleanliness rules. 
  	

Softball Equipment Manager

• 	Coordinates with the Vps of each division to make sure that all the necessary equipment is available. 
  	

• 	Organizes and distributes equipment.
  	

Baseball Equipment Manager

• 	Coordinates with the Vps of each division to make sure that all the necessary equipment is available. 
  	

• 	Organizes and distributes equipment.  
  	

Softball Umpire Coordinator

• 	Coordinates umpire schedules with umpires and VPs for Major and Junior league SB Games 
  	

Baseball Umpire Coordinator

• Coordinates umpire schedules with umpires and VPs for Major and Junior league BB Games

Fund Raising Coordinator

• 	Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations
  	

• 	Collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
  	

• 	Organizes and implements approved league fundraising activities
  	

• 	With the treasurer, maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives.
  	

 Groundskeeper

• 	Works with the City of Sitka to make sure that the fields are ready for play.
  	

• 	Coordinates with the Safety Officer to follow the ASAP Safety Plan. 
  	

Tournament Coordinator

• Coordinate travel and housing plans; working with the president, treasurer and all-star coaches.
