The Bakersfield Silverhawks Mens Fastpitch team would like to welcome you to our website.
For 2010 the Silverhawks are returning a strong core from their 2009 season which helped them to a 5th place finish at the ASA B Nationals in Prescott, AZ. The team is planning to make its second jump in two years levels of play, moving up to play in the ISC II for the 2010 season, and following the teams plan to play at the highest level that the team can compete at. The team is excited about moving up to play some of the beest competitions in the US and Canada.
The Silverhawks have maintained the heart of their order in 2007 CCMASA League MVP Jason Pruitt (LF), 2007 CCMASA League Batting Champion and 2009 ASA B First Team All American Chris McGehee(3B), Troy Parker (IF), and Dan Harbison (C). For the pitching staff for 2010 the Silverhawks have already signed Todd Winkworth from Ontario, Canada and Spud Barker from Southern California, and are in talks with several other top pitchers for the third member of the staff. Top newcomers already signed to the team for 2010 are a pair of 2009 NAFA All Americans in David Carrillo (OF), and Joe Janicke (IF/OF), also signed are Robert Romos (SS) and Fernie Ramirez Jr (Util). The Silverhawks are still in talks with a couple of more big players to add to the fold in their move to the ISC II level, and are excited about the future opportunities of the team.
With these additions the Silverhawks are in hopes of being a better well rounded team, by adding the pitching, defense and offense to try and help the team succeed at the next level. The team will be playing a condensed schedule to help offset the increased travel expenses in 2010, playing in six tournaments in California, Utah, Oregon and Michigan.
The Silverhawks are once again continuing the opportunity to help grow the game of Fastpitch Softball through throwing their own tournament the Silverhawks Invitational May 22-23, 2010, at Patriots Park in Bakersfield, CA. A new addition for 2010 the Silverhawks have teamed with the California A's to throw an ISC qualifier in the California Classic, to be held June 19-20 at Sportsplex USA in San Diego, CA.

The 2010 Silverhawks Invitational dates have been set. The tournament will take place May 22-23, 2010 at Patriots Park Complex in Bakersfield, CA. This year we will once again be giving away $500 to the tournament champion, and with great demand we are bringing back the Beer Garden, which was appreciated by all teams in attendance last year. New for this year we will be having a Slow Pitch Exhibition Game with the Southern California Special Olympics Kern County Chapter athletes playing with players from entered teams to raise money for the Special Olympics Organization.
Entry Fee is $400.
