Arena Board won't reinstall our Provincial Championship Photos
In 2010 the CRDC board dicided to spend an army "tank" full of money looking to renovate the complex. During the course of the work all of our "Ontario" championship /finalists team photos were taken down. These pictures were our club's proud history and every team who reached the provincial final were proudly put on display in the lobby for all to see. We were so very proud of all of our teams up on the lobby rafters. These pictures were your children, your family members, your coaches and staff , your community friends who represented the Shelburne community so very proudly. Our lacrosse club was consistant in remembering our history through our "Ontario' championship teams and club milestones pictures from our inception in 1999 till 2010 when the reno work stop all this. We have spent thousands of dollars promoting our club and its success through our lobby pictures trying to ensure our history is not forgotten. Again these photos were your kids, your family, your friends and some very proud Shelburne Veterans lacrosse history.
The CDRC board through its chairman decided in November 2011 to turn their back on our club by not reinstalling our club's history and our ORIGINAL pictures back up where they once so proudly were displayed in the lobby. Instead the board would rather have a trophy showcase tucked away in a lobby (which was already there prior to the reno work) and insist our photos be redone /reframed in some manner (after all the money we already spent) and then have them tucked away somewhere hidden. Thirteen years of our proud history and support of the CDRC and our community and this is what we get in return.
THANK YOUR ARENA BOARD members for their lack of support of our Club and its players accomplishments in lacrosse in this area. A proud winning history of our club is just not important! Having a faceless, sterile arena lobby which doesn't embrace its sports history is.
Shame on them!

Tyke/Novice Vets reach Ontario final in 2011!
Congrats to both our Tyke and Novice Vets for reaching the 2011 Ontario Final. Though both teams lost in the final they are both to be congratulated in reaching the final. Neither team was expected to get that far so its speaks miles for the players and their coaching staff.
Our tyke Vets won their division with 3 straight wins that included a 9-6 win over Su County Crows, 8-2 win over Halton Hills Bulldogs and a 10-7 win over Oshawa Blue Knights. The semi -final game was a thriller as the Vets edge past the Cambridge Chiefs 7-6. Unfortunately that game took something out of the Vets in the Championship game as the Vets once again played Oshawa. This time our guys just didn't have the guns loaded for their second game against the Blue Knights as the the boys from the motor city took the final by an 11-5 score. Two years in a row our Tykes have reached the final.
The Novice Vets played hard all the way through playing 6 games in total. In round robin play our Vets got off on the right foot blasting the Kingston Kings 12-2. Unfortunately our Troops ran into a tough squad from Center Wellington who defeated them by a 9-6 margin. Our young soldiers needed a win in their thiird game to advance to the quarter finals and they didn't disappoint taking out Welland Raiders by a 13-3 score. The quarter final saw our Vets playing the first place divisional winner Hamilton Bengals. Hamilton just couldn't break that Vet defence enough as the Bengals were sent home packing losing 7-4. The semi-Final game saw our Troopers squeeze past the Ottawa based Nepean Knights by the narrow of margin taking a 4-3 win which advanced them to the championship game. The final saw the boys in cammo facing the unbeaten West Durham Rock. Though the boys gave West Durham their toughest game of the Provincials it wasn't enough as they dropped a close 10-7 final. Like the Tykes it was the second year in a row that the novices have reached the OLA Final.
Congrats to both teams on a great season and being Ontario Provincial Finalists 2011!

Tykes and Novices take Ontario Championships and Midgets are Finalists in 2010!
Wow what a week for Shelburne Vets lacrosse. Not since our first season 1999 have we had 3 of our teams reach the Ontario finals. Unlike our first season in which we unfortunately lost all 3 final games this year we took two championships and were ever so close in the third one narrowly missing by a goal.
Our Tykes went a perfect 6-0 through in capturing our first Ontario Championship in since 2005 when our our Intermediates won the "C" title. Our little Soldiers defeated a tough Windsor Warlocks team from Zone 7 by the score of 4-2 to take our ever Tyke "C" Ontario championship. Our Tykes won the "D" title way in back in 2000 of which many of those boys now play for the Jr "C" team so its a long time coming. Congrats to Rusty Kruger our Tyke head coach and all his staff and players on just an outstanding season! Nice jobs everyone! ONTARIO CHAMPS!!!!!!!!
Our Novice Vets also went through unbeaten as they won our first ever Ontario Novice "C" Championship. Our Vets responded to a very good team from Guelph whom had tied them in the round robin section. Our Soldiers came out fighting in the final and were not going to be denied on this sunday as they took a well deserved 6-3 victory over those same Guelph Royals from Zone 8. The win capped off just a awesome year for of Novice Soldiers who won the Arthur Tournament not to go without saying our own V-Day classic. Head coach Ryan Doolittle and his staff had the boys ready all weekend. Like the Tykes our future bolds really well with such an awesome group of talented young lacrosse players....congrats Novices on a great season and you are indeed ONTARIO CHAMPS!!!!!
Well what can we say about our Midget Vets. The last time our Midget team reached the final was in 2005 when they took the "C" championship in Cornwall that year. This time around our Vets just fell oh so short of that Gold Medal. These guys battled back from a 6-0 first period deficit to rally and tie the game up at 6 in the third only to lose a very tough game to the Whitby Warriors from Zone 6 in the "C" division final by a narrow 8-7 score. So close but hold your head up lads you turned alot of head in the arena when you came back from 6-0 when everyone thought you were done. It showed the character of this team and what it was made of. Alot of these boys have not only played Midget this year but have done double duty by also playing Jr "C" as well so kudos to all of you. Our Veteran head Coach "Mark Early" has been with the bulk of this team for many years and has turned these players not only excellent lacrosse players but excellent young men off the floor as well which is equally as important. Congrats to all our our Midget Vets on just a wonderful season!
Vets uniforms are going Camo!
