Congratulations to Eagles Catcher Stevie Daigle and Eagles Pitcher Jeffery Castille for both signing with Loyola of New Orleans and extending their baseball careers at the collegiate level.

Monday, February 23
Eagles Face Solid Pitcher from Navarre
On a very cold Lundi Gras Night, Eagles fall in their season opener 4-1 to Navarre. In the First inning Steve Daigle lines one to the left field gap, but is denied second base by the left fielder. Jose Sandoval ropes a base hit to left field but is left stranded at first.
Navarre's Bats start hot in the first to score 3 runs. Shaw remains scoreless until later in the third inning, Steve Daigle hits a sacrifice fly to left field to score Ben Selby, who had walked and advanced to third on a stolen base and a hit by Brandon Snow that the Navarre's Short Stop could not handle.
The Eagle's bats remain cold through out the game: Selby had a hit in the fifth. In the sixth, Daigle hits a single and Dylan Butler a double, but only to be stranded in scoring position.
Jeff Castille got the start on the mound and Niko Valladares closed the game out.

A Cold Mardi Gras In Florida
On Mardi Gras Day, Eagles lose to Milton High in very close and hard fought pitchers duel. Jared Landry gets the start on the hill and had a very solid pitching performance striking out 10 panthers, with four hits, and one run scored in only five innings pitched.
The Eagles were scorelss until the fifth inning, Cody Guccione hits the ball to the Panthers Short Stop who can't handle the hard hit pearl, Andrew Starky then lays a tight sacrafice bunt down the first base line pushing Guccione to second. Jeffery Castille is then asked to pinch run for Guccione, who finally scores the first and only run for Shaw with a base hit from Jonathon Coco.
The only other Eagle Hit recorded was by Demarco Baldwin in the sixth.
Steve Frenette was called in to close the game.

Thursday, February 26
One Very Long Night!
In what started out as a very good game for Shaw, ended in a very long game and a win by Ouachita. Shaw's starting pitcher Jose Sandoval pitched a very strong game. Sandoval struck out 7 Ouachita players in five innings pitched. Shaw was up 9 - 1 going into the fifth.
Then both teams began a string of errors that turned the game into a three and half hour game. Shaw lets its first win of the season slip out of their grip.
Stevie Daigle crushed a home run to left field with his first at bat. Brandon Snow had a bunt single. Niko Valladares recorded a double. Jose Sandoval, Jared Landry, Mike Pfister, and Jeffery Castille all had singles on the night.

Shaw Gets Big Win Over Walker.
Jeffery Castille gets the first win of the regular season against Walker High. Castille pitched lights out and goes the distance.
Shaw's bats come alive to finally get some run support.

Saturday, February 28
Shaw Splits at Catholic High.
Shaw drops the first game against Byrd with the score of 10 - 6. Bats come alive in first game but not enough for the win.
Dylan Butler jacks two Home Runs and records 5 RBI's in the game. Ben Selby also goes “Yatzi” taking out a few lights on the scoreboard. Brandon Snow, Mike Pfister, Jose Sandoval, and Jared Landry all come away with base hits for singles against Byrd. Stevie Daigle lays a great bunt for the bunt single.
Jared Landry pitches four innings and strikes out 6. Allen Newman pitches three innings to close the game.
In the Second Game at Catholic, Shaw vs. Live Oak, Shaw gets a win with Sean Connors on the mound. Connors pitches with authority and goes six big innings striking out seven Live Oak players.
Shaw opens up the flood gates in this one; Mike Pfister goes five for six on the day, hitting a triple, two doubles, and two singles for the game. Brandon Snow lays two bunts for singles. Jarred Landry puts up two doubles for the game. Dylan LeSaichere racks up a double and a single. Bryce Parker records two singles, one being a bunt single. Andrew Starkey caps off the hitting fest by Shaw with a seventh inning hard hit Home Run to left field.
Niko Valladares is called to close the game and game ends on an un-assisted double play from Jared Landry.

Umpire's Tournament - First Game De La Salle
Shaw gets a solid win over the Cavaliers. Winning the game 10 - 1.
Jose Sandoval pitches lights out and holds the Cavaliers to one run for the game. Allen Newman is called to close the game.
Jose Sandoval records a Home Run for the game. Sean Connors goes two for three with a single and a double. Demarco Baldwin and Andrew Crawford both hit doubles for the day. Jared Landry and Brandon Snow both single in the game against De La Salle.

Saturday, March 7
Umpire's Tournament / Rummel and Jesuit
Shaw continued play in the Umpire's Tournament with a double header at Mike Miley. The games would prove to be nail biters to the final innings of both games.
Jarred Landry pitches another great game striking out six. Mike Pfister is called in relief and Jeffery Castille is called to close the game.
Shaw is held scoreless until the fifth inning. Bryce Parker gets a base hit up the middle in the fifth and is scored with consecutive wild pitches to score the first run of the game.
In the sixth, Ben Selby begins a two out rally with a base hit to the right center gap. Demarco Baldwin then drives a double into the right field corner scoring Selby for the only run of the sixth.
In the seventh, Snow and Daigle both get on with bunt singles. Dylan Butler then drives a single to left field pushing Snow accross home plate for Shaw's final run.
Shaw goes into the bottom of the seventh up 3 - 2. Rummel scores two in the seventh to win a great game played by both teams.
Final Score was 4 - 3 Rummel.
Coach Faust takes the team into right field and prepares the team for another big game against Jesuit.
Sean Connors gets the start against Jesuit for the second game of the day. Sean pitches another beauty of a game and goes the distance and plus one, pitching a total of 8 innings.
Steve Daigle goes two for three, with a triple and home run. Ben Selby and Dylan LeSaichere also hit for singles in the second game of the day.
Jesuit wins game 2 - 1.

Shaw goes to Kirsh-Rooney to play the final game of the Umpire's Tournament. Brother Martin wins 9 - 2.
Jeffery Castille got the start on the hill and Allen Newman was called to close the game.
Snow, Landry, and Butler all recorded doubles for the game. Connors and Parker both had singles on the day.

Shaw Wins Close One at East Ascension!
Eagle Pitcher Jared Landry brings his A-Game to East Ascension, with a dominating performance, giving up no runs, one hit, and four strikeouts on the night. He goes the distance pitching a big no-no until the seventh.
In the third inning, Shaw's Center Fielder Demarco Baldwin strokes a line drive up the middle for his first base hit of the night. Baldwin is pushed across home plate for the only score of the night, when East Ascension's Pitcher finds himself in his only trouble of the night hitting three batters behind Baldwin.
Baldwin goes two for two, with two base hits, and a base on balls. Jared Landry ropes a double in the fourth and Sean Connors hits a hard single in the fifth.
Shaw strands eight in scoring positions. But, the Eagles play a hard fought battle with great pitching and solid defense.
Shaw wins 1 - 0.

Eagles 7-6 over Riverside…
The Eagles scratch out win, with two men on in the bottom of the 7th inning. Jose Sandavol, 2-4, 2 RBIs, lines a game winning single into right, scoring Sean Conners from third. The score knotted at six Sean Conners, 1-4, 1BB and 2 R scored, reaches on an error. Jared Landry, 2-4, 3 RBIs and 1 Run scored, singles to left and Sean advances to second. The runners advance on an errant pickoff attempt from the catcher. Runners on second and third, one out, Jose comes to the plate and singles in the game winning run.

Game 1 of Westbank Optimist Challenge
Shaw losses to the undefeated Northshore Panthers. Jared Landry gets the start on the hill. Steven Frenette comes in at relief and Niko Valladares gets the close.
Brandon Snow goes 2 - 3, with two base hits. Mike Pfister goes 1 - 1, with a double in the first and base on balls. Sean Connors goes 1 - 3 with an RBI, and one run scored. Jared Landry, Jose Sandoval, and Johnathon Coco all rack up singles for the night, with Sandoval also recording the final RBI.
Northshore takes the win with a 13 - 2 score.

Shaw defeats St. Charles Catholic 6 to 3....Sweet....
Eagles score six runs on seven hits and Jose Sandavol goes five innings, striking out two, giving up six hits allowing three runs two earned. Jose, Mike Pfister and closing Jeff Castille combine for the win.
Mike Pfister, 2-4 1 1B 1 2B 1R, starts the first with a double, Brandon Snow, 0-4 2BB 1R, draws the walk. Pfister and Snow advance on a bark, with runners in scoring position Sean Conners, 1-4 1 RBI, singles to left advancing Snow to 3rd and scoring Pfister. Jared Landry, 0-3 2 BB 1 HBP 2R, walks and advances to 2nd scoring Snow on a wild throw.
Two walks one to Conners, one to Landry to start the bottom of the third. Sandavol, 2-3 1 HR 1 1B 4 RBIs, comes to bat with the 1-1 pitch hits a three run homer over the left field fence making the score 5-2.
One run in the bottom of the fifth finishes the scoring for the Eagles. Landry HBP advances to 3rd on two wild pitches. Sandavol singles to left for his second hit and fourth RBI scoring Landry bring the score to 6-3 for a sweet victory in their second game in the Westbank Optimist Challenge.

Brandons Snow and Mike Pfister both go 2-4 at the plate, with Snow scoring two runs and Pfister with one RBI. Johnny Coco goes 1-4 with a run scored and an 1 RBI. Cody Guccione goes 1-3 and hits the only double on the day. Andrew Starkey goes 1-2 with a single and fly out to first. Sean Connors gets an RBI on a sacrafice fly and Allen Newman scores the final run of the game.
Final Score, Cardinals 7 - Shaw 4.

Shaw gets a "W" in District
Landry dominates the hill for a complete 7 inning game pitched. Landry and the Eagles defense play a solid game only facing 3 batters in 6 innings straight, Big Jared strikes out 10 Elender batters on the day. He allowed only one hit the on the day, which unfortunately came in the 7th inning with two outs.
Eagle’s right fielder Dylan Butler gets a double in the second only to be left stranded on third to end the inning.
In the third, the Eagles bats come alive when Stevie Daigle rips a double into deep left center; scoring Ben Selby from second base that had been hit by a pitch and had stole second. Eagles Short Stop Brandon Snow then steels second base after drawing a base on balls. Mike Pfister then ropes a double to left center scoring Daigle and Snow. Sean Connors then hits a back to back double to score Pfister for the fourth run.
Daigle then leads off the fifth with a hard hit solo home run deep up the middle. Elender’s pitcher then begins to struggle with three walks and two hit by pitches scoring Jonathon Coco and Sean Connors.
In the sixth, Jeffery Castille gets hit by pitch; Coco and Stephen Frenette both draw walks to load the bases for Niko Valladares. Valladares then hits a single to left field scoring Castille and Coco for the last two runs on the day.
Eagles get their first win in district with a score of Shaw 9 and Elender 0.

Eagles vs. Cougars
The Eagles get their second win for district in a big fashion, with the 10 run rule in the fifth. Jeffery Castille gets the start and Niko Valladares closes it out to secure the win. Senior Pitcher Castille gets four Cougars to strike out in two innings of work, with no hits and no runs. Valladares strikes out five in three innings, with one hit and one unearned run.
Eagles Catcher Stevie Daigle, who missed several games due to the flu, comes back hot as the Eagle's lead off hitter. Stevie went 2-2, with two singles, two stolen bags and two runs on the day. He started the first inning with a lead off single opening up the flood gates early for the Eagle's.
Seniors Jared Landry and Jose Sandoval who also suffered with the flu are all back in the line up, ready to push the Eagles back to the top of the district. Landry goes 1-2 against the Cougars, with a fielder’s choice and a rocket shot 3 run homer in the second, 3 RBI's, one run scored and a stolen bag.
The Eagles offense comes alive with a total of 9 hits and 15 runs.
Anthony Paniagua - has a 2 - 2 day, with a double and a sky scraping over the score board home run, two RBI's and two runs scored.
Sean Connors - 2-2, with a double and single, one run, and two RBI's.
Andrew Starkey - goes one for one, with 1B and one run scored.
Jonathon Coco, Brandon Snow, Mike Pfister, Dylan Butler, Bryce Parker, and Cody Guccione all had hits on the day. Coco and Butler had doubles. Snow, Parker, and Guccione all had singles. Mike Pfister had a great bunt single.
The Final Score was Shaw 15 - Helen Cox 1.

Eagles Begin to Fly High!
Eagles defeat Morgan City 9-7 for 3rd district win….
Eagles score 9 runs on 12 hits for their 3rd consecutive district win. Three run 1st, five run 4th, the final run in the 5th along with stellar pitching and defense secure the big win.
Jeff Castille 2-4 34 SO, takes the mound and goes three innings giving up six runs on six hits striking out one. Two runners on in the top of the 4th Jared Landry 3-3 31 SO, comes in relief. Landry gets the win giving up one run on one hit striking out four.
Steve Daigle 2-4 1 1B 2B 1R 2 RBIs, starts the 1st with a bunt single, Jonathan Coco 3-4 1 1B 1 2B 1 HR 2 R 2 RBIs, doubles to right center. Runners on 2nd and 3rd Mike Pfister singles scoring Steve and Jon. A two out double by Dylan Butler scores Mike capping off a three run 1st.
Butler leads off the 4th with a single to left. Jose Sandoval 0-3 1R, reaches 1st with catchers interference, Dylan advances to second. Ben Selby 1-3 1 1B 1 BB 1R 1 RBI, steps to the plate with one out, singles to left plating Dylan, Jose moves to 2nd. Jose and Ben move up on a wild pitch. Daigle doubles to left scoring two. Coco finishes off the five run 4th with a two run homer.
Butler jacks a solo homer for the Eagles final run of the game in the 5th.

Eagles Come up Short against Belle Chasse.....6 - 5
Eagles score five runs on eight hits stranding ten runners in a heart breaker against Belle Chasse.
Jeff Castille 2-5 43 SO, gets the start, Jeff throws for six innings giving up six runs on five hits striking out 10.
Eagles score their first run in the bottom of the 3rd off Brandon Snow 2-4 1 2B 1 HR 2 RBIs, solo home run. The bottom of the 4th Demarco Baldwin 1-3 1 2B 2R, leads off with a double, he scores off a sac fly from Jonathon Coco 0-4 1BB 1 RBI, for the only run of the inning.
A five run 5th for the Cardinals brings the score to 6-2.
A bit of bad luck only plates one run in the 6th. Demarco reaches first after being hit by a pitch. Steve Daigle draws a walk advancing Demarco to 2nd. Two outs Brandon doubles scoring Demarco and what should have been Steve. Steve stumbles rounding third with what turns out to be a season ending knee injury, good luck Stevie.
Jose Sandoval 3-0 20 SO, comes in relief in the 7th with the bases loaded, retires the side without giving up a run keeping the score 6-3.
Eagles would not go down without a fight. The bottom of the 7th brings up Sean Conners 1-4 1 2B 1R, with one out Sean doubles into right center. Jared Landry 2-4 1 1B 1 HR 2 RBIs, slams a two run homer brings the score to within one. Eagles leave the tying run on the bases….

Who Let the Dog's Out..........
Eagles travel to Houma Thursday night and defeat the Terriers. Shaw has 12 hits on their way to a sound victory over Vandebilt Catholic 15-5.
Jared Landry 4-3 (3-1) 43 SO, holds the Terriers to five runs on five hits striking out seven for the win. Solid defense and pitching bring the Eagles to 4-4 in district.
The 1st inning starts with Mike Pfister 2-5 3R 2 1B 1 RBI, reaching on an error, Mike steals 2nd and advances to 3rd on a wild pitch. Jonathan Coco 3-5 4R 1 1B 1 2B 1 HR 2 RBIs, has his first hit of the day scoring Pfister, Jon moves to second with a steal. Dylan Butler 3-5 4R 1 1B 2 2B 5RBIs, gets his first RBI with a double down the 3rd base line. Sean Connors 0-5 2 BB 2 RBIs, hits the ball to 2nd reaching on an error and scoring Butler for a three run 1st.
A three run 3rd starts with Coco doubling to center. Brandon Snow 2-5 2R 1 1B 1 3B 2 RBIs, bunts for a base hit moving Coco to 3rd. Butler doubles to right plating Coco. Jared Landry 1-5 1 1B 1 RBI, singles to left bringing home Snow. Butler moves to 3rd on a wild pitch, no outs Connors steps in and hits into a 6-4-3 double play and Dylan scores.
Eagles send nine batters to the plate resulting in a four run 4th. Pfister leads off with an infield hit. Coco’s base on balls moves Pfister to 2nd both runners move up one on a wild pitch. Snow hits a deep shot to center for triple scoring Pfister and Coco. Butlers single down the 3rd base line scoring Snow. Connors draws a walk, Butler moves up. Jose Sandoval 1-4 1 1B 1 BB, advances the runner with a single. Dylan Lesaichere 1-4 1R 1 1B 2 BB 1 RBI, gets the walk, Butler walks in for the final run of the 4th.
A solo homer by Coco adds to the total in the 5th. Lesaichere singles to left, advances to 3rd with the benefit of two wild pitches to start the 6th. Pfister singles home Courtesy Runner Allen Newman. Coco gets his second base on balls, Pfister steals 3rd, Coco takes 2nd on a wild pitch. A sac fly by Snow scores Mike. Butler homers for his 4th and 5th RBI of the game which puts 15 runs on the score board.

Shaw Eagles defeat Ellender 10-0...
Saturday’s trip to Houma results in the Eagles 5th district win. Eagles plate 10 on eight hits through five innings. Strong pitching from Jose Sandoval 4-0 25 SO, who gives up two hits and strike outs five, along with timely hitting, good defense secure the win.
A three run first starts with Jonathan Coco 2-3 1 1B 1 2B 1R, hitting the ball to left for a double. Dylan Butler 0-3 3 BB 3R, draws a two out walk bringing up Jared Landry. Landry 1-3 1 INT 1 HR 2R 3 RBIs, hits a first pitch three run homer to left.
Six runs in the 3rd sends 11 Eagles to the plate. Brandon Snow 1-3 1 1B 1R, singles to left center, steals 2nd and 3rd. Butler walks, Landry is intentionally walked which brings Sean Connors to the plate. Connors 1-3 1 1B 1R 2 RBIs, singles plating Snow and Butler. Jose Sandoval 1-3 1 1B 1 RBI, hits the ball to left for RBI single scoring Landry moving Connors to 2nd. Anthony Paniagua comes in to run for Jose. Dylan Lesaichere 0-3 1 BB 1R, reaches on a fielders choice, Paniagua is out at 2nd Connors goes to 3rd. Allen Newman runs for Lesaichere and advances to 2nd on a wild pitch. Ben Selby 1-2 1 1B 1R, with a two out single scores Connors, Newman moves to 3rd. Mike Pfister 1-3 1 1B 1 RBI, singles to center Newman and Selby score. One run in the 4th by Butler finishes off the Eagles scoring.

Shaw over Helen Cox 15 - 0 ...
Eagles travel to Oakdale Tuesday to play Helen Cox. Jeff Castille 3-5 48 SO, shuts out Helen Cox giving up one hit striking out five in four innings. Niko Valladares retires three batters in relief in the fifth.
12 runs in the top of the 2nd and three in the top of the 5th allow the Eagle bench to get involved for the win.

Eagles prevail in Morgan City...
Shaw travels to Morgan City Thursday and returns with a win. In a nine inning battle the Eagles defeat the Tigers 8-7.
Jared Landry 4-3 (3-1) 55 SO, pitches seven tough innings allowing seven runs four earned on six hits striking out five. Sean Connors comes in relief in the 8th and 9th facing six batters striking out one keeping the Tigers from crossing the plate, securing the victory.
Morgan City crosses the plate six times thru four and in the 5th the Eagles come within two plating four. Eagles send five to the plate and the Tigers walk four loading the bases, this brings up Jonathan Coco. Coco 3-5 2R 1B 2B HR 4RBIs, hits a 1-1 pitch over the left field fence for a grand slam. Three more runs in the 7th gives the Eagles a one run lead 7-6. Mike Pfister 0-6 2R 2BB, draws a walk to start the 7th. An error by the short stop allows Coco and Pfister to remain aboard. Brandon Snow 1-5 1B, singles up the middle to load the bases. Dylan Butler 0-5 1R 1RBI, hits off the end of the bat reaching 1st and scoring Pfister. Bases loaded Jared Landry 1-5 1B 1RBI, singles to left plating Coco, Snow is thrown out at home trying to score from 2nd. Butler moves to 2nd, Allen Newman is the courtesy runner for Landry. Sean Connors 0-5 1R 3BB, is hit by a pitch moving Butler to 3rd and Newman to 2nd. Dylan Lesaichere 0-5 1RBI, draws a two out walk and Butler crosses for the final run of the 7th.
Morgan City ties the score in the bottom sending the game into extra innings. Eagles go down in order in the 8th, Sean Connors retires the side facing three for a scoreless 8th.
Eagles regain the lead in the 9th. Connors draws a two out walk, Jose Sandoval 0-5 1R 2BB, reaches 1st on an error moving Connors to 2nd. Lesaichere gets a free pass loading the bases. Ben Selby 0-5 1R 1BB, reaches on an error by the 3rd baseman and Connors scores the go ahead run. Sean Connors keeps the Tigers from crossing the plate in the bottom, Eagles win.

Eagles win it in the bottom of the 7th by defeating Vandebilt Catholic on Tuesday, 4-3. The Terriers kept the Eagles off the board thru four, a two run 5th and 7th bring home the victory, their 8th district win.
Jared Landry 5-3 (4-1) 62 SO, gets the hill and thru seven gives up three runs on five hits striking out seven. After three scoreless innings the Terriers pick up two in the 4th off of three hits, the last run for visitors comes in the 6th as a result of walk an a base hit sandwiched between two strike outs.
Two outs in the 5th Jonathan Coco 2-4 1R 2B HR 1RBI, hits a solo homer to left. Brandon Snow 2-4 1R 2 1B, singles to right for his second base hit, a wild throw to 1st moves him to 2nd. Dylan Butler 2-4 1R 2 1B 1RBI, punches the ball to right for an RBI single scoring Snow, tying the score at two.
One run in the 6th by the Terriers and none in the 7th brings the Eagles to plate in the bottom of the 7th down by one. Coco lines out to 2nd, Snow flies out to center to start the 7th. Butler gets aboard with a single to center. With two outs, Jared Landry ropes an 0-1 pitch for a walk off two run homer over the left field fence.

Shaw defeats Ellender 15-0…
Eagles score 15 runs on five hits, nine came in the 1st on one hit, three hits result in three runs in the 2nd, six more cross in the 4th on one hit. Jeff Castille 5-6 62 SO, only needs five, giving up two hits and keeping Ellender from crossing the plate. Castille and the rest of the Eagles get their ninth district win for the season.

Senior Day brings Eagles 10th district win…
Saturday was Shaw’s seniors last regular season home game, the Eagles defeated Helen Cox scoring ten runs on twelve hits. Seniors Bryce Parker, Andrew Crawford, Jose Sandoval, Jared Landry, Jeff Castille, Kyle Pazon and Stevie Daigle were honored along with their parents prior to the start of the game.
Jose Sandoval 5-0 36 SO, goes seven innings giving up three runs on five hits striking out ten. Sandoval had six scoreless innings with three Cougar runs coming in the top of the 3rd.
Jonathan Coco 1-2 2R 2B BB, doubles down the third base line in the 1st. Brandon Snow 1-2 1R 3B 2RBIs, hit the ball deep to center for a RBI triple. An error by right fielder allows Jared Landry 1-4 2R 2B 1RBI, to reach 2nd scoring Snow. Two outs Bryce Parker 0-1 1SB, is hit by a pitch, and by drawing the throw for a stolen base allows Landry to score, for a three run 1st.
Jeff Castille 2-4 2R H 2B, starts the 2nd with a double to right center. Andrew Crawford 0-2 1R, reaches on an error. An RBI double by returning catcher Stevie Daigle 1-2 1R 2B 1RBI, plates Castille moving Crawford to 3rd. Coco draws a walk loading the bases, Crawford scores on a pass ball. Snow singles to left scoring Coco for the 4th run of the inning.
Only one run for Eagles in the 3rd. Castille singled to left and scored after Brock Termine 0-3 1RBI, hits the ball to short for the 2nd out.
The last two runs come in the 4th. Landry doubles to right and Sandavol single to right scoring Landry. Sandavol scores the final run on a throwing error. Eagles finish with a 10-5 district record and now wait for where, when and who we play in the playoffs.

Shaw Opens Up the Flood Gates in a Double Header
In the first game, Central Lafouche's pitching can't handle the hot bats of Shaw. And Shaw's Tyler McDonald, eighth grader, pitches great for a win of 12 - 1.
In the second game, Shaw again repeats with an almost familiar score to the first. Shaw utilizes good defense, dominate pitching, and a bat crushing offense to take the win against Holy Cross with the score of 12 - 2. Austin Soden pitches for the Shaw win.

Shaw's Tyler McDonald gets the start on the hill. But, the bat's stay cold all day against the Tigers, as Shaw falls to Holy Cross 10 - 1.

Garrett Shano throws the white pearl well for Shaw, as he pitches a one hit game. He goes the distance, shutting out Brother Martin for the day.
Shaw shows another great display of strong hitting, as they had 14 hits and pushed 5 runs accross home plate.
The Eagles win another game by defeating Brother Martin 5 - 0.
Tuesday, March 10
Shaw vs John Curtis
Shaw wins a close game at Wintersheidt Stadium. As Austin Soden gets the start for Shaw. Soden goes the distance striking out 6 on the day in five innings of hard work pitched.
The bats come alive in the second as Shaw pushes 4 runs home. They later score three runs in the fourth, and one in the fifth. Soden goes two for two, with a double, a single, a base on balls, and a hit by pitch for the day. J.P France rips a double in the fourth to help with the runs scored. Garrett Shano, Collin Landry, and Connor Landry all had timely hitting as they added hits for the day.
Shaw gets the win against John Curtis in a hard fought battle, winning 8 - 6.

Shaw defeats Rummel in great game played. J.P. France gets the start and pitches a solid three innings. Garrett Shanno is called up to close the last three, who also has another great performance.

Eagle's Pitcher Austin Soden gets the nod on the Hill, against the Holy Cross Tigers. Soden goes 4 - 0 on the season with another complete game pitched.
Eagle's Shane Poole and Connor Landry both had timely hits on the day to preserve the win for the Eagles. Poole hitting a double and Landry hitting a triple, with Landry’s hit one hopping the left center field fence.

Eagle's Pitcher Garrett Shano gets the start on the hill. Shano stays hot beating Brother Martin for the third time this season.
Shano goes 2 - 4 with a single and double on the day. Eagle's second baseman Shane Poole contributes with a double of his own. Collin Landry also contributes with a timely single up the middle. Austin Soden goes 1 - 2, with a single and two hit by pitches scoring 3 of the 5 runs scored.

Shaw vs. Belle Chasse
Eagle's Freshman Pitcher Austin Soden get's the start but unfortunately can't get the win.
After Shaw falls behind the Cardinals 7 – 2, the bats come alive for the Eagle's with a home run shot by Shane Poole. Garrett Shano and Payton Fiorenini follow up with base hits. Soden pushes both Shano and Fieornini with a sacrifice bunt, only to be left stranded on second and third.
The Eagles fight hard on the come back but fall short, losing to the Cardnials 7 - 6. Soden goes to 4 - 1 on the season.

Junior Varsity drop season opener
JV played Jesuit for the first game of the year. Jesuit gets win with an 8 - 2 score.
Dylan Butler gets the start, with Niko Valladares in relief and Thomas Keown with the close. Valladares pitches 3 innings with no runs allowed, silencing the bats of Jesuit.
Shaw could not find enough hits to stay in the game.

Shaw vs. Rummel
Shaw goes to Rummel for their second Junior Varsity Game of the season. Rummel takes the win 4 - 0.
Dylan Roudolfich gets the start on the hill, Thomas Keown gets the relief, and Shae Mnichowski is called to close the game.
Shaw had no timely hitting and left six stranded on the bags. Shae Mnichowski had a bunt single in the third inning. Allen Newman, Cody Guccione, and Niko Valladares all recorded a base hit for the game.

Shaw's J.V. Battles Hard for First Win
Shaw secures ther first win in a great low scoring game against the Crusaders of Brother Martin. Eagle Pitcher Thomas Keown is given the start on the hill. Keown pitched a complete game with only four hits, one run scored, and three stike outs in "gem of a game" pitched.
J.V. showed some great defense all around and with some outstanding catches by Cody Guccione, Dylan Roudolfich, and Garrett Shano in the outfield.
Jonathon Coco went one for two, with a double and a hit by pitch. Guccione, Ross Panepinto, Garret Shano, Austin Soden, and Brock Termine all had base hits for the day, with Termine's hit coming in the seventh scoring Coco for the go ahead run.
The Eagles win over Brother Martin, 2 - 1.

Shaw Cruises to Big Win......
Shaw wins big in Bridge City defeating Higgins.
Niko Valladares gets the start on the hill, pitching two strong innings with two unearned runs and one strike out. Jonathon Coco pitches very well in the third stiking out three Higgin's batters. Steven Frenette pitches the fourth with one unearned run and one strike out. Thomas Keown closes the day with two strikeouts in the fifth.
The Eagles open up the floodgates in this one with a total of 17 hits on the day. Cody Guccione leads off the first inning with a solid 3 run home run. Jonathon Coco dominates the plate going 4 - 4, with two doubles and two singles. Austin Soden has a 2 - 3 day with two singles and a base on error. Shae Mnichowski, Chris Litton, and Nick Binanatte, all join Coco with thier own doubles on the day. Andrew Friniz, Anthony Paniagua, Raymond Gisclair, Niko Valladares, Brian Wingerter, Ryan Letulle, and Dylan Roudolfich, all had base hits on the day.
Shaw has big win with a score of 19 - 4.

Shaw Defeats Jesuit, 7 - 6
Thomas Keown gets a big win away over the Jesuit Blue Jays. Keown goes the distance in another strong - hard fought - eight inning battle. Keown strikes out 5 in a great game pitched.
Game goes scoreless through three. Jesuit scores one in the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, Cody Guccione draws a base on balls. Ross Panepinto ropes a double to the fence pushing Guccione over to third. Brock Termine hits a Sacrifice Fly Out to score Guccione for the tie. Andrew Starkey and Niko Valladares both get hit by pitches and are left stranded on base.
Jesuit Scores 2 in the top of the fifth and one in the top of the sixth, giving Jesuit the lead.
The Eagles wake up the aluminum in the bottom of the sixth. Anthony Paniagua gets a hit by pitch, yes again. Guccione, Chris Litton, Termine, and Andrew Strakey all get back to back hits to score 3, with Starkey clearing the bags with a big hit into deep center field. Valladares and Brian Wingerter are both hit by pitch and left stranded on the bases. Starkey scores the fourth run of the inning on a wild pitch.
The Blue Jays go up by one in the top of the seventh. Jonathon Coco leads off the seventh with a base hit. Panepinto hits a ball that the Bule Jays Short Stop can not handle. Coco scores the tying run on a wild pitch, pushing the game into the eighth.
Keown returns to the hill in the top of the eighth. Big Thomas Keown gets the Blue Jays “heart of the line” to go 3 up and 3 down, with one strike out.
In the bottom of the eighth, Starkey leads off with a base on balls. Niko Valladares pushes Starkey to second with a base hit. Brandon Faust draws a base on balls to load the bases for Coco. Coco comes to the plate with bases loaded and two outs. Coco has a great at bat and wins the battle and the game with a base hit to left field, scoring Starkey for the go ahead run.
Final Score, Shaw 7 - Jesuit 6.

Shaw vs. Belle Chasse
Shaw loses a heart breaker in the eighth inning to Belle Chasse. The game was knotted up 2 - 2 going into the eighth. Eagle Pitcher Niko Valladares got the start with Shae Mnichowski closing.
Valladares had eight strike outs on the day, but ran out of rocket fire fuel in the eighth.
Eagle’s Bats on the day:
Anthony Paniagua: 3 - 4, 1-2B, 2-1B, 1 intentional walk, and one run scored.
Jonathon Coco: 2 - 3, 2-1B, a base on balls, an RBI, and one run scored.

Eagles Pitcher Thomas Keown goes 3 - 0 for the season with another gutsy performance. Keown goes the distance again and strikes out seven Tigers at the dish.
Eagle’s bats stay cold until the fifth. Eagle's Left Fielder Cody Guccione gets a solid "dink" to deep center field for a triple to lead off the fifth. Brock Termine then has a hard hit single to right field to score Guccione.
Holy Cross was up 3 – 1 going into the top of the sixth, Dylan Roudolfich draws a base on balls and advances to second on an error by the Tiger's Catcher. Garrett Shano then comes to the plate and hits a solid shot to score Roudolfich.
The Tigers score two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Eagles then come to the dish in the seventh with Holy Cross up 5 - 2. Dylan LeSaichere, Ross Panepinto, and Brock Termine all draw base on balls loading the bases for Niko Valladares. Valladares hits the ball to the Tiger's Short Stop who can't handle it and then rushes the throw commiting an error, scoring LeSaichere. Starkey then draws a base on balls to score Nick Beninatte, pinch running for Panepinto. Andrew Ferniz then gets hit by a pitch to score Termine for the tying score. With the bases still loaded and one out, Austin Soden who was 0 - 2 on the day, ropes the ball to right field to score Valladares and Starkey for the go ahead runs, making the Score Shaw 7 and Holy Cross 5.
Keown allows only one hit and no runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure a great come back win for the Eagles.
Final Score: Shaw 7 - Holy Cross 5.

Shaw vs. Thomas Jefferson
Eagle's Pitcher Dylan Roudolfich gets the start on the hill. Roudolfich had a stellar performance and goes the distance. He strikes out 5, with no walks, one hit, and no runs.
The Eagle's bats come alive in this one. Anthony Paniagua ropes a solo home run in the first. Cody Guccione scores the second run in the first on a wild pitch.
Niko Valladares hits the ball the opposite way for a base hit but is left stranded on base to end the second.
In the third, Garrett Shano is awarded a base on balls, steels second and third, and is hit in for the run on a Guccione's sacrifice fly to center field.
In the Fourth, the flood gates are opened in Winterschiedt Stadium as 14 Eagles come to the plate and score 9 runs. Nick Binanatte, Andrew Starkey, Niko Valladares, Shae Mnichowski, and Brian Wingerter, all have base hits to push the runs across home plate and secure a fifth inning 10 run rule.

Shaw wins Big at Belle Chasse.
Eagles Thomas Keown goes 4-0 on the year with another dominating pitching performance. He goes the distance with five strike outs, one hit, two walks, and only one run score.
In the first, the Eagles bat the line up, Austin Soden draws a base on balls, Anthony Paniagua is hit by a pitch, and Cody Guccione hits the ball hard to the Cardinals third baseman who can't handle the white pearl. Dylan LeSaichere and Andrew Starkey rope doubles, and Brock Termine and Niko Valladares both hit singles to help score five runs in the first.
Brock Termine, Garrett Shano, and Niko Valladares all hit the ball to push three more runs across the plate to end the third, with Shano roping a double.
The Eagles push two more across the plate in the fourth, with Termine, Shano, and Brian Wingerter all placing the bat on the ball.
After a base hit by Chris Litton and a hit by pitch on Paniagua, the Eagles score their final run in the fifth to help ten run rule the Cardinals.
The Final Score, Shaw 11 and Belle Chasse 1.

Eagle's Pitcher Nikolas Valladres gets the start against the Patriots. Stephen Frenette is called up to close and help secure the win in the final inning.
Eagle's out score the Patriots by one run in a nail biter. Both teams had their share of the slug fest with Shaw walking a way with the win.

Time Saver defeats Gulf Coast, Pelican Waste, and Nation Wide with three straight victories in the District Playoffs, capturing the Southeast District 2 Championship.
They move on to the Southeast Regional being held at Athletic Park in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Their first opponent will be Lanco / Pope John Paul.

Time Saver starts off strong in its first game of the Southeast Regional. They defeat Lanco / Pope John Paul 16-6 with a big show of offensive power.
Pitching
Time Saver Pitcher Jeffery Castille gets the big win with five innings pitched. Niko Valladares closes out the last two.
Defense
Time Saver commits 3 errors on the day.
Mike Pfister, Brandon Snow, and Jared Landry pull a 4-6-3 double play to end the second.
Time Saver Center Fielder Allen Newman makes two great hustles on fly balls, one coming in the fourth to the left center gap and the other hit deep down dead center to end the sixth.
Dylan Butler has a diving catch in the fourth.
In the fifth, Butler, Pfister, and Coco team up to gun down a Lanco runner advancing to third with a relay from the right field corner.
Offense
Brandon Snow, Allen Newman, Dylan Butler, Dylan LeSaichere, and Brock Termine all bang out hits on the day.
Jonathon Coco, Steve Daigle, Shawn Connors, Demarko Baldwin and Mike Pfister all get multiple hits on the day. Coco and Baldwin both go yard, and Coco gets 3 of 4 needed for a cycle, just a single short.

Time Saver is handed first lost in the Southeast Regional....
Time Saver and Peak BMW / Brother Martin battled hard in the first four and were knotted up at 2. The game started as a great pitching duo with Time Saver Shawn Connors getting the nod on the hill, with Thomas Keown and Dylan Butler in relief.
Time Saver met the pearl quite often at the dish but couldn't seem to find the gaps to display their true offensive power.
Peake gets the win over Time Saver 9 - 2.
Time Saver resumes play tomorrow July 13, 2009 at 1:30 pm against Capital One / Fountainebleau.

Time Saver moves on to the Semi-Finals.....
Time Saver gets their second win in game number nine of the Southeast Regional. They defeat Capital One / Fontainebleau 3 – 1 with an outstanding pitching performance from Thomas Keown, a solid defensive outing, and timely hitting.
Pitching
Eagle Pitcher Thomas Keown (TK) has a great performance and goes the major league distance. In 9 innings, TK only gives up one run, on four strike outs, and 0 walks. He forced Capital One to ground out 20 times, and shows an outsand defensive glove to help himself out in the forth, with a fielder's choice to third and a line-out double play to end the inning.
Defense
The Eagles committed only 1 error on the day. Mike Pfister, Jonathon Coco, Brandon Snow, and Jared Landry all played solid infield to help secure the win. Both Coco and Pfister made some great defensive highlights on the day.
Offense
Time Saver was held scoreless until the second; in the bottom of the second Jared Landry drew a base on balls to lead off, and then stole second. Stevie Daigle then roped a ball to right field pushing Landry to third. Jeffery Castille then dinked one deep to right field for the sacrifice, scoring Landry for the only run of the inning.
The Time Saver offense was then held in check again until the sixth. With one out in the bottom of the sixth, the bats come alive. Allen Newman, Jonathon Coco, Dylan Butler, and Jared Landry all get back to back hits, with Landry capping off the 4 bat rally with a double. Both Newman and Coco cross the plate to capture the final two runs of the day.

Time Saver goes to 23 - 6 on the summer, and 2 - 1 in the Southeast Regional.
They will resume play against Rummel Tuesday night at 7:30 PM.

Time Saver ends season 23 - 7...
Time Saver made a great run but fell short in the Southeast Regional to Rummel 6 - 2. Shaw could not gather any hits to help out a great pitching performance by Jared Landry.
