Shaw opened 9-4A play with Win
Shaw opened 9-4A play with a solid 3-1 win over Belle Chasse in a battle of the two top teams in the league. This one counted. The two teams had played just two days before (Saturday) with Belle Chasse beating the Eagles 9-3 in the West Bank Optimist Challenge.
J.P. France did the job for the Eagles, fanning 15 Cardinals while allowing just four hits to improve to 4-1 on the season. France added a double while Garrett Shano drove in a pair of runs with a single in the fifth inning. Matt Fountain drove in the first Shaw run with an RBI single in the second inning.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 9-10 overall and got the early jump in the race for the 9-4A title.

Colin Landry is opening pticher. Colin pitches 4 innings allowing no hits. In 1st inning Solar gets a double from a hit to LF. Shano reaches 1st on an error and scores Dylan. Peyton scores on Poole's fly out. In the top of 4th inning w/ 2 outs Eagles land a rundown from 3rd to home resulting in 3rd out made by Eric Keller. In bottom of 4th inning Poole scores by Kellers flyball to CF. Nick Moore comes in as your relief pitcher in the 5ht inning. More has 1 strikeout and allows no hits. In bottom of 5th inning Dylan scores a run on 3rd strike passed by while JP advances to 1st base.
Eagles win 4-0!

Jay Patterson Tournament
Shaw Eagles played in the Jay Patterson Tournament this weekend.
The Eagles opened the tournament with their first game against Dutchtown @ 4pm. Garrett Shano was your opening pitcher. Jared Giambelluca came is as relief in the bottom of the 2nd inning & 3rd inning and Ian Aquilar closed out game pitching the 4th & 5th inning. Eagles lose this game 10-0.
On Friday March 9th a very cold & windy evening J.P France pitched against East Ascension. J.P. was on fire for this game striking out 12. Garrett Shano scored 2 runs, Soden pushes Peyton F. in to score with a walk. Eagles win this game 3-0.
Shaw Eagles played a double header on Sat. March 10th. Eagles vs Destrehan was 1st game played. Nick Moore was your opening pitcher for the Eagles. Garrett Shano flies out to CF and recieves RBI; scores Soden from 3rd base. Peyton F. line drives past 2nd base recieves RBI; Eric Keller scores. Vinnie Leco (pinch runner) scores after Shano's hit to CF. Jared Giambelluca comes in pitching in the 6th inning to relieve Moore. Giambelluca walks 2 batters, 1 strikeout & allows no runs. Eagles lose 4-3.
Eagles vs St Amant -Colin Landry is your opening pitcher. Ian Aquilar relieves Landry in the 2nd inning and pitches into 3rd inning. JP France recieves a 3 run RBI scoring Shano, Peyton, & Poole. Jace Nini relieves Ian in bottoms of 3rd inning as your pitcher. Eagles make double play in bottom of 3rd inning. Eagles lose 14-3.
