CHOCTAW BASEBALL CAMP
The Choctaw baseball camp is a two day instructional camp for young boys and girls that will focus on the fundamentals of fielding, hitting, pitching, catching and base running. The camp will be held at Choctaw’s baseball field and instruction will be provided by Coach Scott Johnson and his assistant coaches as well as assistance by current and former Choctaw baseball players.
Time and Dates: Date: June 4 – June 5thTime: 5:00pm – 8:00pmAges: 4-12
Cost: The cost for the two day camp is $60 per camper. All campers get a Choctaw baseball Camp Tee Shirt
What to Bring: Due to the outdoor nature of our activities it is recommended that all campers use sunscreen and wear a hat. Please notify our staff at registration of any pre-existing conditions that may require medical attention. Campers are responsible for providing their own equipment, which includes sunscreen, cleats, glove, hat, and bat. Coach Johnson’s Bio: Head Coach: Scott Johnson Coach Johnson will be in his fourth year as the Head Coach at Choctaw after guiding the Indians to the District Championship in 2011 and Runner up in 2012.Prior to becoming the CHS Skipper Coach Johnson served three years as an Assistant coach for long time CHS Coach Andy Snaith, Before returning home to join Coach Snaith at CHS, Coach Johnson spent three years as the Head Baseball Coach at one of the most respected baseball programs in the State of Georgia, Harris County High School in Hamilton before moving to Georgia, Coach Johnson served 4 years as the Head Baseball coach of Mount Dora High School in Mount Dora, Florida. During those four years, he was voted the All-Area Coach of the Year and led the team to their first playoff appearance in 15 years.Prior to being a head coach, Coach Johnson was an Assistant Coach at Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College in Andalusia, Alabama. During that time, the team set school records in both home runs and team batting average. The team batting average led the nation in 1998. For two consecutive years, they were Alabama state runners-up in the NJCAADivision II, and had a final ranking of 9th in the nation by the Collegiate Baseball Magazine both years. During 17 years of Coaching Coach Johnson has had the privilege to coach 26 players that were drafted in the MLB Armature Draft.As a player in high school at Fort Walton Beach High, Coach Johnson was voted to the All-District 2-AAAA Baseball Team 1987and 1988, Most Valuable Defensive Player 1987 and 1988, and Pensacola News Journal All Northwest Florida 1988. Coach Johnson is a graduate of Troy State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History and a Master's Degree in Education.

Our League operates under the leadership of a 13 member Board of Directors. Our annual General Membership and Elections Meeting gives our members the opportunity to select the Board for next season. Anyone that is a General Member may vote. All parents, legal guardians and registered volunteers of SLL are General Members.
At Closing Ceremonies the General Membership elected a new Board of Directors for the 2012 season. The Board assumes leadership on October 1, 2011. Here are the Directors for 2012:

COMPOSITE BATS
Little League International enacted rules concerning composite-barreled bats. Composite-barreled bats for use in the Little League (Majors) Division and below are legal only if they are listed on the approved list from Little League. Little League has created a list for those bats that receive waivers of the moratorium that was enacted on Dec. 30, 2010.
