At Watkins Glen on Wednesday, an overtime goal by Luke Flahive gave the Senecas a victory over Binghamton Seton Catholic Central in the opening round of the Section 4 Class C tournament.

Schedule Update

 Here is what our game schedule will look like until sectionals.

Tuesday is CF at home at 430pm.
Wednesday is still JC at home at 430pm
Thursday will be practice
Friday is now away at CV, Varsity is at 430, JV is at 4pm. I need to know ASAP if we will need a bus.
Saturday is Oneonta, I am waiting for confirmation on that.
Next Tuesday will be the Mayors Cup, waiting for confirmation on that as well.

25 September: At Windsor, Alex Kashani scored the winning goal early in overtime. Griffin Covert had a free kick, and Kashani headed it past the Saints goalie.

Covert scored twice in the second half to give the Saints a 3-2 lead. Windsor’s Jason Schmidt tied it with two minutes to go in regulation. Noah Jones had the assist off a free kick.

SCC goals-assists: Griffin Covert 2-2; Alex Kashani 2-0.

Windsor goals-assists: Matt Beaudoin 1-0; Kevin Saar 1-1; Jason Schmidt 1-0; Noah Jones 0-1.

At Seton Catholic Central, Connor Ulma and Will Gorman scored first-half goals for the Sabres, and Justin Carroway added an insurance tally in the second half as Matt Merrell had three saves for Susquehanna Valley.

Susquehanna Valley goals-assists: Connor Ulma 1-0, Will Gorman 1-0, Jake Evans 0-1, Justin Carroway 1-0, Ryan Taylor 0-1.

At JC, Clay Smith scored twice and assisted on two other Wildcats goals. Hauke Brand had 11 saves for the Saints in the loss.

Thursday, September 19
Oneonta 4, SCC 1

Theo Malone scored three goals and Oneonta High bounced back from Saturday’s loss at Owego with a 4-1 Southern Tier Athletic Conference boys soccer victory over visiting Seton Catholic Central on Tuesday.

“He’s very quick,” OHS coach Alex Brannan said of Malone, who scored the Yellowjackets’ final three goals. “He gets the ball on his foot and he’s very deceptive and can get around guys.”

Kragh Delello opened the scoring for OHS. He headed in a chipped pass from Zach Joseph with 23 minutes, 44 seconds left in the first half.

Malone made it 2-0 with 10 minutes left in the first half. He finished a throughball from Alex VanDeusen.

After Seton Catholic Central’s Alex Kashani scored on a header early in the second half, Malone scored on a 27-yard shot to restore Oneonta’s two-goal lead.

“It went to the top right-hand corner,” said Brannan, whose team fell, 4-3, at Owego in double-overtime Saturday. “It was a beautiful bender.”

Joseph finished with two assists and Willy Harrison made four saves for the the Yellowjackets.

Training shirts are here

The Varsity & JV Training shirts are IN.  I will pick them up tomorrow after work and deliver them to the games at BC United.  
Please provide a check or cash to Denton or Jacqui Covert for $20.00.

I will also have a sample jacket with me for the Warmup Jacket Order. The jacket is $60; logo/name will be ~$10.00 additional.  I will find out more when I pick up the training shirts tomorrow.

Warmups!

We are ordering a new Warmup Top for the Varsity Boys. Zipper Jacket. Cost is $60.  They are nice; and we did research for a decent price and that is the best we can do with all the places around here.  We did go to a few places to get the best price.  We will have a sample of the jacket at the GAME tonight and at practices.  Coach would like all the boys to purchase one.  If you have an issue with this, please talk to either Coach Boyko or me, Jacqui Covert. *** WE NEED TO ORDER ASAP SO THE PLAYERS HAVE THE JACKETS FOR THE GAMES**  Please RESPOND ASAP on size as we will be placing the order by Friday 9/13/13.  As always if anyone other player (JV) or parent would like to order, they are welcome to!!

Update and schedule change

Happy Labor Day everyone, just wanted to give you some quick updates.

Practice for this week is from 4-6pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a possible light practice on Saturday.

Our game against SV has been moved to Thursday, I was not given a say in the scheduling, apparently the SV AD messed something up.

Games are Thursday at SV and Friday at home.

ALL FORMS MUST BE HANDED IN BY WEDNESDAY!!

Update

Practice will be from 4-6pm on Saturday. Practice times for next week will stay 430-7pm. Next Saturdays session will be in the afternoon, I'm waiting on confirmation of work schedules for the other coaches before we finalize the time.  When school starts we will be going from 4-6pm or 4-630pm.

As of right now we will not be practicing on Labor Day, unless certain individuals need a practice session to get to there eight practices needed to be eligible for games.

The fall sports meeting is this Sunday at 6pm in the school cafe.

Team pictures are on Thursday August 29th, please be at school by 9:45am.  Uniforms will be handed out next week.

Any 7th or 8th grader who hasn't taken the fitness text yet, needs to contact Mr. Sinicki and set up a time with him to take it.
