BOO NA-NA READ-OPTIONS HIS WEEK FOUR SNF PICKS

"NEW PALTZ - With the Huguenots scoring a school record 63 points at Wallkill last week, they get the privilege of hosting Saugerties 30 minutes earlier than the rest of the world ... VALLEY CENTRAL - Kingston gave up 70 to MW, 59 to Washingtonville, and 41 to Goshen. I guess this means they'll allow 56 and 2/3 points to the Vikings? ... MONROE-WOODBURY - This week the Middie Bears have studied up on all Crusader players, including relatives and various in-laws ... PINE BUSH - The home crowd finally gets to see a big 'W' ... CORNWALL - Surely, General Washington enjoyed spirits and fine lodging at the Warwick home of Colonel John Hathorn amidst the journey to the Delaware. Yet, he also employed the Canterbury roads to visit Cornwall's Sands Homestead. The Dragons win here because Newburgh's Hasbrouck House, Washington's headquarters for one year, shadows the Cornwall-on-Hudson Bay, notwithstanding the 7000 defensive backs he kept at the Vails Gate Motel 6 (with nary a split-end marching ahead to Pine Island) ... HIGHLAND - The Huskies will have to deal with a night of Panther prowling in what could be pinball-machine football ... RIVER DELL - NJ has a slight edge in terms of quality competition over NY, where we sometimes go with Brand 'X' ... MARLBORO - The Dukes overmatch Port Jervis in Class B-I play, then they take their steadies out to talk about the game ... BURKE - The Eagles swoopeth down and snatcheth a B-II win at Ellenville ... CHESTER - The Hambletonians keep on trampling and whinnying over the competitipn ... PAWLING - Could be close at Sullivan West and I don't think the statistical analysis for this game that I ordered from Amazon will arrive in time ... PINE PLAINS - Time for me to jump aboard the Bombers bandwagon after they taught me a lesson last week ... MINISINK - These Goshen barnstormers will obtain sole ownership of the county-seat by late Saturday afternoon ... CORNING - Roosevelt gets some 'Corning-ware-and-tare' (pardon the spelling license) ...  RONDOUT - The Ganders get a win to make Accord and the land of 10,000 little hamlets proud ... O'NEILL - The Raiders have more things going well than Liberty right now. I wonder what all the SNF fantasy-leaguers are saying? ... SPACKENKILL - A Saturday afternoon honeydew list of 'spackling' and grouting the Blazers ... HALDANE - Onteora has had a rough go of it this season. Expect Hal to sweep right and Dane to run up the gut ... ROSCOE/LM/D - Roscoe will use not only eight players, but also one of its eight fields (its secret Livingston Manor home-field advantage) to disorient the opposition ... TRI-VALLEY - I can't foresee Fallsburg defeating all three valleys."

***WARWICK COACH GREG SIRICO NAMED NY JETS AND GATORADE COACH OF THE WEEK!!

RICH ARNOTT'S NICKEL AND DIME SNF RANKINGS AFTER WEEK THREE

 Class AA/A

1) NEWBURGH - The Goldbacks face a tough challenge in hosting River Dell from New Jersey, a team that has outscored its opponents 107-21 in three wins so far ... 2) MONROE-WOODBURY - When the little-bro QB lights up the board with six TD passes and 70 points, 'nuff said ... 3) CORNWALL - The Dragons shrink-wrap defense and multi-diversified offense gives them the advantage over normal SNF teams ... 4) PINE BUSH - Look for a second consecutive AA league win this Friday when Washingtonville rides in ... 5) MINISINK - An impressive win against Burke is now followed by another venture to Goshen - against (#24) state-ranked Goshen ... Dimeback) GOSHEN - The Gladiators almost matched their 81-point cumulative two-week total by posting 76 more at Monticello.

Class B/C

1) MARLBORO - The Iron Dukes open up B-I play in week four, entertaining struggling Port Jervis ... 2) BURKE - The Eagles have tested the Class A waters early in 2018, winning one game easily, one in close-knit fashion, and losing decisively one time.... 3) CHESTER - The Hambletonians pay a visit to Red Hook, who lost to Spackenkill, who lost to Liberty, who lost to Chester ... 4) SPACKENKILL - The Spartans got out of Red Hook with a nice win and will play the favorite at home against a young Millbrook squad ... 5) HIGHLAND - Three dominating wins, albeit against inexperienced teams, still gets the Huskies aboard these rankings ...  Dimeback) RED HOOK - The Raiders could not contain Spackenkill and now difficult Chester appears on the radar.

8-Man Commentary

We learn more as 8-Man football progresses from week to week. Tri-Valley and Pine Plains have had the best success through two weeks, with both programs going 2-0. Pine Plains surprised some onlookers by defeating Pawling, who had won big-time the previous week. Roscoe/LM/D out-eighted Sullivan West in a good game to even up both teams' records at 1-1. The Dover Dragons recovered from a week one loss with a good win at home. Unfortunately, Eldred and Fallsburg have found no luck through two games apiece, but at least they're playing football. BTW, T-V hosts Pine Plains in week seven.

RICH ARNOTT'S NICKEL AND DIME SNF RANKINGS AFTER WEEK TWO

Class AA/A

1) NEWBURGH - NFA pitches a shutout against Middletown to begin AA divisional play ... 2) MONROE-WOODBURY - The Crusaders return to SNF after a week one jaunt up to the Dome to defeat Pine Bush by three touchdowns ... 3) CORNWALL - The Dragons have consistently answered the call against all levels of SNF opponents, including AA finalist Pine Bush and reigning B champ Marlboro ... 4) PINE BUSH - We realize the Bushmen have lost their first two games, but look who they played ... 5) MINISINK - Took care of business in its first Class A contest versus Roosevelt, and will now look forward to this Saturday's intriguing clash at Burke ... Dimeback) GOSHEN - The offense has put 81 points on the scoreboard through two victories with more in store at Monticello.

Class B/C

1) MARLBORO - Despite losing 16-6 to Cornwall, the defense did an outstanding job to keep the Dukes in the game ... 2) BURKE - The Eagles won a close encounter against a good New Paltz team on the road. Now they prepare for tough Minisink in a Saturday afternoon matinee ... 3) CHESTER - Defied all local media types who picked against them at Liberty - and won by 42 points! ... 4) SPACKENKILL - The Spartans hold this slot after a strong win at Class B Port Jervis ... 5) RED HOOK - These Raiders have beaten a Class A and Class B team, while playing as an independent ... Dimeback) LIBERTY - Things don't get any easier with Marlboro rolling in this Saturday.

8-Man Commentary

The standings speak for themselves as far as who represent the top teams in this league. Pawling comes over from Section One to win big over Fallsburg, while Tri-Valley hammered Dover. Sullivan West blanked Eldred, and Pine Plains beat Roscoe/Livingston Manor/Downsville by three touchdowns. Through week one of 8-Man play, it appears as though we could have a case of "haves and have-nots" - but it's still early.
