Seattle Central Little League: Spring Divisions of Play
Tee Ball is for girls & boys, ages 5-6. Players will learn the fundamentals of baseball, have fun, and experience the value of teamwork.
Games are played on Saturdays at Garfield Playfield. Additionally, teams will have practice one weekday evening each week during the season.
Coach Pitch
Coach Pitch Division is for girls and boys, typically ages 7-8 (6 year olds may play if 1 year exp. in T-ball and ready for fielding batted balls by 8 year olds). The coaches do the pitching to ensure that the games are fun. Players will work on baseball skills such as defensive positions, throwing, fielding and hitting techniques and base running.
Games are played on Saturdays. Additionally, teams will have practice one weekday evening each week during the season.
Minors-Rookie Baseball
Minors is for 8-10 year old boys and girls. Players pitch at this level and the complete game of baseball is taught. The Minors division is both instructional and competitive with more emphasis on skills refinement during the season.
Rookies are usually players in their first year of Minors.
Participation in the Skills Day practice is required for players in this division.
Minors baseball
Minors is for 9-10 year old boys and girls. Players pitch at this level and the complete game of baseball is taught. The Minors division is both instructional and competitive with more emphasis on skills refinement during the season.
Participation in the Skills Day practice is required for players in this division.
Majors baseball
Majors is for players 11-12 years old. This is a competitive level of play, with powerful pitching and hard hitting.
Participation in the Skills Day practice is required for players in this division.
Juniors-Baseball
For players aged 13-14 (as of April 30, 2011). 12 year olds can play up to this division. Experienced coaches, MLB base path distances, and interleague play create a very competative program!
Coach Pitch Girls Softball
Brand new for 2012! For girls ages 7/8 to get an introduction to the wonderful game of fastpitch softball!
Minors Fastpitch Softball
Girl Power! Minors Fastpitch softball at SCLL has grown steadily over the years. Our minors teams have participated in district and state tournaments. Beginning at age 8 (as of 12/31/10) the girls learn the fundamentals of fastpitch softball. Minors are typically aged 8-10 (11 if not ready for majors or 1st year playing). At the beginning of the year there is a modified coach pitch rule which is slowly phased out during the remainder of the the year.
Majors Fastpitch Softball
Girl Power 2!!! Majors fastpitch softball is typically for girls ages 10-12 (as of 12/31/10 for 2011 season). Skills learned at the lower levels are improved upon. The teams may participate in district and state tournaments. Typically these teams practice twice per week in the pre-season, then 1 practice. Games take place throughout King County.
Juniors - Fastpitch Softball
Girls ages 13-14 (as of 12/31/10). Some 12 year olds play up, depending on experience/ability. SCLL hopes to have at least two juniors teams who will inter-league play with surrounding little leagues.
