| I never thought i'd see a fellow Scholes player in broad daylight and not near a cricket pitch. Fortunately for me tho, it was the fresh-faced Dave Weston doing his routinely football (that's soccer, Elvis)touch-line duty @ New College, Huddersfield. I was naturally on the opposite team. When we started I saw the recognisable man but it was 20mins into the game when he called 'Alrite there Walshy' or 'What are you doin here?' I can't remember which. I replied by beating his team 2-0. Keep warm durin winter boys, keep logs on the fire as Sir Cliff would say. |

| I would to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Scholes for making my first season so enjoyable. It takes a special group of people not to curse and swear too much when I drop catches and watch balls sail down the leg-side for four byes every week. Anyway, any criticism from said folks would result in a severe beating, cos I play rugby and I'm well ard. Looking forward to playing a few more matches next year for my "local" club Scholes, and to taking advantage of the skipper's hospitality now that he lives only a nats pube away from the ground. |
