Thursday, January 27 SABL Opening Day is March 11, 2012 The SABL baseball season begins Sunday, March 11th. The SABL regular season runs until the middle of August which is followed by the playoffs in August/September. The SABL championship series is played the first or second week of September. Thursday, January 5 SABL Pool Practice For New Players Set To Begin January 29th The SABL will hold four weeks of pool practice for interested participants beginning Sunday, January 29th at Benedictine Military School. Pool practice will be held on each Sunday from 1pm - 3pm. If you have any questions feel free to email or contact the league by phone. Sunday, October 16 Reds Win the 2011 SABL 35+ Age Division Championship The Reds swept the Tigers to win the 2011 SABL 35+ Championship. The Reds were defending the title they won last season. Monday, October 3 Rhinos Win the 2011 SABL 23+ Age Division Championship The Rhinos defeated the Bombers in game three of their best of 3 championship series to win the 2011 SABL 23+ Age Division Championship. Monday, October 3 Reds and Tigers Advance to the SABL 35+ Age Division Championship The Reds and Tigers won their respective semi-final series to advance to the 2011 SABL 35+ Championship--a best of three series. Thursday, January 27 Workout Sessions for New Players Will Begin January 30, 2011 Workout sessions for new players wanting to join the Savannah Adult Baseball League (SABL) will begin on Sunday, January 30th to join for the 2011 season. Please contact the league office via email at info@SavannahMSBL.com or via telephone at 912-376-5871 if you want to register to attend or have any questions. Workout sessions for new players will continue every Sunday until a draft is held in late February to place new players on teams. There are two age divisions (23+ and 35+) in the league. Monday, September 27 A's Win the 2010 SABL 23+ Championship The A's swept the Mudcats in their best of three championship series to capture the 2010 SABL 23+ championship. Monday, September 20 A's Win Game 1 of the 23+ Championship Series The A's defeated the Mudcats in game one of the best of three 23+ championship series. The A's and Mudcats will play one or two games (if needed) this Sunday to decide the championship. Monday, September 20 Reds Win the 2010 SABL 35+ Championship The Reds swept the Saints in the best of three championship series to win the 2010 SABL 35+ championship. Thursday, September 16 Reds Win Game 1 of the 35+ Championship Series The Reds defeated the Saints 7-1 Wednesday night at Country Day to take game 1 of the best of three 35+ championship series. The series will continue this Sunday (9/19 @ 1 PM) at Jenkins High School. Sunday, August 29 Saints and Reds Advance to the 35+ Championship Series The Saints edged out the Tigers in the third game of their best of three semi final series to advance to the 35+ Championship Series. The Siants will face the Reds who also advanced to the 35+ Championship Series by winning the third game of their best of three semi final series against the Sox. The 35+ Championship will be decided by a best of three game series between the Saints and Red. Friday, August 27 Playoff Fever The SABL playoffs are in full swing (pardon the pun) for the 23+ and 35+ age divisions. The championship for both divisions should be decided on September 19th. Friday, July 9 SABL 2010 All Star Game - West defeats the East 13-12 The SABL 2010 all star game was played Thursday, July 8th at Historic Grayson Stadium. The West all stars defeated the East 13-12. The game ended with the bases full for the East team. It was a close game with lots of exciting plays. The East and West all star teams were comprised of three players from each of the 13 teams in SABL. There were many players that "shined," but you would be hard presseed to surpass the performance of Tim Waine. Tim went 4 for 4 with two triples, a double, a single, a walk, two RBIs, 3 runs scored, and a stolen base. Sunday, October 18 Bombers Win the 23+ Division Championship Series for 2009 The Bombers defeated the Orioles in game three of their best of 3 championship series to win the 2009 SABL 23+ Age Division Championship. This was a wild third game with several lead changes. The final score was 14-13 with a game winning hit by Rick Evans in the bottom of the 7th inning. Sunday, October 11 Tigers Win the 35+ Division Championship Series for 2009 The Tigers defeated the Saints in game three of their best of three series to win the 35+ Age Division Championship. The winning pitcher was Michael Godbee. The game was decided in extra innings. |
