Day 1 (7/19/08) The 2008 All-Star Season comes to an end as the Mustang A team loses both of their pool games today against two top teams.   We tip our hats to Devin Myrick, who hit his second home run of the All-Star Season in game 1 today!  Congratulations to the coaches and players of Mustang A, who earned their spot in the Region round - we are all very proud of how well you played this season!  We also thank each and every one of you (from all of the All-Star teams) for contributing to a successful 2008 season on behalf of Santa Su.  Lastly - THANK YOU, PARENTS AND OTHER FANS, FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR TEAMS THIS SEASON!

Come out to Simi Youth (789 Irvine Rd just off Madera Rd near the Sinaloa Golf Course) this coming weekend to help support our Mustang A team while they continue to play hard and represent Santa Su at the Mustang Region round of All Stars.  Please be aware that Simi Youth will be charging a small "gate fee" (i.e. admission) to enter the facility.

Day 1 (7/10/08):

Both Santa Su teams still active in All Stars took home wins yesterday for their first games of the second round of tournament play. Congratulations to both teams, and keep it up!  Goooooo Santa Su!!!

Day 2 (7/12/08)

Both teams suffer their first losses of the round, but are still in the running.  The Mustang A team is still looking strong, having earned a spot in the semi-finals tomorrow and remains positive about their chances.  Game time for Mustang A (Semi-final) - 6:00 pm on Sunday, 7/13, Shetland plays at 12:30 on Sunday, 7/13 - bring home the wins!!!

Day 3 (7/13/08)

Mustang A loses in the Semi's, but still has a good chance of moving on to Region if they win tonight during the Consolation game against Newbury Park A at 5:00 pm.  Shetland loses their second pool game, causing their elimination from All-Stars.  Great job, Shetland for making it to this round and for playing your hearts out!

Day 4 (7/14/08)

Mustang A wins the Consolation game and advances to the Region Tournament hosted by Simi Youth Baseball, July 18-20.  When the All-Star season began, there were approx. 46 Mustang All-Star teams registered within the North Region of the Southern Calif. Pony Baseball Division.  Santa Su Mustang A is one of the six remaining teams that will compete in the North Region round, and for that big accomplishment - we applaud the players and coaches for a JOB WELL DONE!!!  Also, a big "Congratulations" and "Atta Boy!!!" goes out to Devin Myrick for hitting his first post-season homer tonight (well over the left field fence).  Great job and great teamwork, Mustang A!

The Mustang A team will be playing at the Newbury Park Pony Baseball facility at Dos Vientos Park (4801 Borchard Rd.) during the "Section" round as follows:

Go Santa Su Shetland!

The Mustang A All-Star team, managed by John Zahorik, won the District championship at East Valley today, and will advance to the "Section" round at Newbury Park from July 9-14.  The Shetland All-Star team, managed by David Theroux, placed in one of the top four spots at the District level and will advance to the Newbury Park Region or West Hills Section round July 9 - 14. 

The Mustang A team scored 70 runs during the 4 games played while allowing a total of 6 runs against them, and won all games by the mercy rule with each game lasting only 4 innings.  Theroux says the Shetland team won their final game in dramatic fashion with a great defensive effort in the last inning, and that everyone hit the ball well.  Great job, teams!

DAY 1 (7/4/08) Pinto B, Mustang A, and Bronco all take home wins on Day One at East Valley - great job, teams!  Keep fighting in Newbury Park, Shetland!  Good luck to Pinto A and Mustang B tomorrow in Acton, as you begin sanctioned play!
