Santa Susana Baseball is a non-profit community baseball league run exclusively by volunteers with player divisions for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 14 (age as of April 30, 2010). Our baseball complex is located in the scenic foothills of Simi Valley, California between Houghton Park and Township Elementary on Township Avenue between Tapo Canyon Road and Tapo Street.
Santa Susana Baseball has been serving the Simi Valley area for 47 years. We are dedicated to teaching baseball skills, teamwork and sportsmanship in the welcoming spirit of the PONY ("Protect Our Nation's Youth") sports organization. Join us and make new friends playing youth baseball the way it's meant to be.

Letter from the Sumner Family
November 6, 2009
Dear Santa Su Baseball Friends,
A simple “Thank You” is so incredibly inadequate. With David’s death we’ve lived every parent’s nightmare. Making sense of it is fruitless. But what does make sense is the love and support you all have showered on our family. Too often we see on TV and read in the papers how people are inconsiderate, and cruel to each other. But the response you and the community, many of whom never even met David, have given us in the face of this tragedy is truly a blessing. If anyone ever tells me again people are no good, I will point them to all of you, because you all are very special people.
Whether it was donations, food, flowers, or simply your love and prayers, we thank everyone that reached out to us. It has helped us immeasurably. We have faced the toughest of life’s challenges this year, but we’ve also learned from all of you what real caring is about.
David was always proud to step on the playing field, whether it was baseball, or football, or basketball, or bowling, or golf, or even ping pong. He loved playing the games, and he loved the camaraderie and competition of the other players. He would have been humbled, and secretly thrilled, by the love you have shown. For David, we thank you.
We have been staggered by the outpouring to David’s memorial fund. We will use some of the funds for expenses as needed, but the majority will go to charities and causes, both local and global, that David would have wanted to help. We are determined to continue to mine good things from this horrible accident. David lived life fully in his 10 short years. Know that we love you for your support, and beg you to do what David would have wanted for you all. Live. Love. Be Happy.
Thank you,
Bart, Leslie & Abby Sumner

The Pony Field is Shaping Up!
The Pony Field renovation project is moving along nicely, thanks to a small group of dedicated volunteers. The new sod was laid down this past weekend, but there is still some more work do to, so anyone who can volunteer a few hours of their time can contact Marvin Stone - cammarv@yahoo.com. Santa Su will be accepting player registrations for the Pony Division for the Spring 2010 playing season.
