SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO LITTLE LEAGUE: 2009 Spring Season Divisions

Majors
The Majors Division is for players aged 10, 11 and 12. This is a competitive division, resulting in Tournament of Champions for the top two teams, and a team going to the All Stars Tournament.


AAA
Triple A Baseball is a competitive division, resulting in the two top teams going on to Tournament of Champions. Triple A additionally sends a team to the All Stars Tournament. Players in this division are 9, 10 and 11 years old. After a skill assessment "tryout", players are placed on teams through a draft system.


AA
Double A players will play "Kid Pitch" baseball. This is a competitive division, with best overall record for the season determining 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. This division is for players who are League age 8, 9,and 10. (age as of 4/30/09). League age 7 year olds will be eligible to play Double A only if they try out and are approved by the drafting committee.


Seniors
The Senior League Division is for players who are 14 to 16 years old. This division offers a full range or tournament play, as well as a World Series.


Juniors
The Junior League Division was established as a transitional program for players 13 and 14 years old. The Junior Division offers a full range of tournament play as well as World Series tournaments.

A
In Single A players will be playing Machine Pitch baseball. Players will continue to learn, develop and practice their fundamental baseball skills. Players must be at least League age 6, (age as of 4/30/09) and have played one year of Tee Ball. This is a new Little League Baseball rule.


T-Ball
The Tee-Ball Program is a training process by which players can learn, develop and practice fundamental baseball skills at an early age. Tee-Ball players use the tee only.
This program is for players who are League age 5 and 6, (age as of 4/30/09). Upon request league age 6 year olds can move up to Single A if they have completed one year of Tee-Ball

Challenger
The Challenger Division is for children ages 5 - 18 who have special needs. Players will enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.
