Saline Hornet Middle School Football Key Dates (Summer Update) 

WELCOME to Middle School Hornet Football!  Below is some key information and very important dates to place in your calendars. 

MS Football Summer Conditioning moved to the Middle School starting August 3^rd.  The remaining sessions are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday August 3, 5, 6, 10, 12, and 13^th.  Coaches will be onsite and leading/supervising all sessions.  There is NO conditioning the week of August 17^th. A 2009 Middle School Coaching list and contact sheet w/per team schedules can be found by clicking HERE! 

All Saline athletes are required to have an annual physical on file for the 2009/2010 school year dated after April 15^th, 2009.  

All middle school Student-Athletes will also pay a one-time participation fee for the 2009/2010 school year of $125 sent to the HS Athletic Office by the September10^th deadline for MS Athletes (August 25^th for HS athletes).  Each paid participant will receive a Hornet Pass ($45 value) allowing the student free access to all home sporting events throughout the school year (excluding MHSAA Tournaments).  This fee allows the athlete to participate in any Middle School sport.   Athletes are strongly encouraged to wear an athletic supporter for all practices (not provided by the school). 

Below are key dates to put in your calendar:

August 21^st – 6PM-8PM Middle School Football Mandatory Parent Meeting, MS Gym  Parent/Guardian(s) of incoming Middle School Football Players must attend this meeting for an overview of the season schedule, expectations, and an introduction to coaching staff.  Required Forms (Physical, Medical Consent, Trip Consent, Rules and Regulations) will be available before the meeting and may be turned in at the conclusion of the meeting   Required Forms are available to download through via; www.salinehornets.com

August 22^nd  Saturday 9:00-11:00am – MS Locker room - 8^th Grade Football Equipment/Locker Issue.  All Forms must be completed and turned in to receive equipment 11:30-1:30pm – MS Locker room - 7^th Grade Football Equipment/Locker Issue.  All Forms must be completed and turned in to receive equipment

August 24^th - 26^th, 3:30 – 5:30pm – Three days Helmet Only conditioning, position drills, and skills development.  NOTE: Any player who has not submitted a completed physical form will still be required to attend practice, but may NOT participate in the activities.

August 27^th – 28^th - 3:30 – 5:30 – Full pad practices begin daily.  Athletes are strongly encouraged to have an athletic supporter for all practices.

August 31^st – September 3^rd - 3:30 – 5:30 – Daily practices, Separate into Blue / Gold Teams

September 4^th and 7^th – NO Football this Friday or Monday, Labor Day weekend

September 8^th – School begins, Middle School Football Practices, Daily 3:00-5:15PM 

September 10^th – Deadline for Participation Fee, payments can be submitted to the Saline Athletic Office a the High School

September 22^nd – First Middle School Football Game – GO HORNETS!!  All MS Football games will be scheduled on Tuesday’s with 7^th Grade kick-offs at 4PM and 8^th Grade kick-offs directly following the conclusion of the 7^th Grade game (usually by 5:20pm).
