"The Bucket"

The tradition of "The Bucket" has been with Saline Football for generations.  It is a philosophy that we live and play by that has continued to build the tradition and legacy of Saline Football.  The bucket sits in the athletic trophy case for all to see and during the fall makes a trip to the football stadium to serve as a constant reminder to those who play Saline Football that they are a part of something much bigger than a team...

"It sits by the well for all to use.  Its water to be used for priming the pump to draw water for whomever passes by.  The only way it works is to have each user refill it after priming the pump, there by providing the water for those who follow to also prime the pump.  This simple act of leaving water to prime the pump is a source of strength and a legacy for our football program."

*Every Saline Football player dating back to the early 70's has their name and senior year put on a wooden football and put into the bucket.  They are the foundation of Saline Football.  If anyone has information on Saline Varsity Football rosters prior to these years, please contact Coach Glennie with that information.
